  1. How sad the clinic associated with the hospital I had my sleeve done at is closing their doors.

  2. Thanks+ Jesse my son is a little freaked by the idea that he will be doing rehab for a year. He has had surgery for some major breaks in his arms (the boy has broken an arm 10 times in his 28 years) and even the last one which happened in Iraq when an IED blew up under the vehicle he was driving and shattered his elbow was rehabed in 4 months. He goes in on the 14th.

  3. Running and digging ditches....talk about extra energy post sleeve!

  4. Lol! 2 miles sounds a lot more impressive then it is. I have no doubt that you walked even further on your hour walks. I also walked a lot pre op and had for years. Every day does get better. I am just sorry that you had such a rough first week.

  5. Thanks. Surgery went well and I am doing great 3 weeks out I have lost 20lbs already!

  6. Thanks for asking its very sweet of you. All is good here just hectic roofers pounding away and a flooded garage from the water heater but nothing can phase me I just bought a pair of size 4 jeans! "Not Your Daughters Jeans" are my new passion

  7. Oh I love Mexican food! It is a trip I am so use to piling it on the plate but spoon full of mashed potatoes a half cup of cottage cheese looks so tiny but it does fill me up! We went to claim jumper and I got some clam chowder to share with my husband and I felt I had t6o rush to get it in befpore he ate it all no worries I had more then enough but I guess I am not ready for sharing yet(G)

  8. How's your potassium doing?

  9. Poo my vitamin D levels dropped! I knew those two weeks I was out of town I wasn't taking care of things but had no idea two weeks would make a difference.

  10. Happy First Surgiversary (belated). Hope you are happier then you imagined you'd be.

  11. I wanted to be sure to congratulate you on your first surgiversary.

  12. How are you doing?

  13. I was reading your post about your metabolism problems. Have you tried something like a Bodybugg tracker to get an accurate snapshot at how many calories you burn a day? You pretty much wear them around the clock except for showers for a month and it will tell you what your average daily calorie usuage is including your base rate.

  14. Thanks for the good thoughts. I am sleeved and home and you are day after tomorrow! It wasn't too bad I think the fear was worst then the reality. Last night was a bit rough I have problems with nausea, vomiting and reflux to begin with so that just added on to what might not have been much at all. Had a bit of pain mostly gas and have a drain hanging from my side I see the surgeon in the morning to have it removed. I would have to say the worst parts were the waiting, the barium and the dry mouth while npo until the ugi.

    Good luck

  15. I just read about your DH's surgery our youngest is having his shoulder operated on in 2 weeks. How is it going?

  16. So today I went in for my four month post op visit. My bp was 109/73 I have been off my blood pressure pills since September. My latest labs are all good. From the day I first saw him in late July I weighed 208 today I weighed 159! I am beyond happy and the icing on my cake an ultimate NSV my surgeon asked if I would send him a before and after picture on his web site!! My feet still haven't touched the ground.

  17. Wow you are looking great. I am sorry you are still having to deal with a feeding tube.

  18. Can you believe its been 3 months!

  19. His name is Bindi Bits and is a ragdoll.

  20. Went clothes shopping today first time since my sleeve. Size 10 jeans a tad loose tops large. Pretty wild.

  21. LOL! I think I got all my gas out with the first 48 hours I thought my chest was going to explode(G) That hurt! Yesterday I made myself two poached eggs for dinner last night way too much1 It gets kind of tricky when you start with the mushies I can not imagine what regular food will be like. Some days if I do not take a nap I can barely keep my eyes open after 9pm. Are you taking any b12? It is suppose to help with energy. Have you found any protein drinks you like?

  24. LOL! I just noticed on your bio where you wrote "2 Boys Mike 21, Cory 16. Hubby 24 yrs" a 24 year old hubby not bad you cougar you.

  25. I had been stalled at the 10 lbs mark for six weeks and then almost overnight I dropped 5. I am excited for you we are both on the shorter side of life with similar surgery weights so I know what is waiting on the other side for you.
