    New to this

Hi, I am 9 months out and have absolutely no regrets. I think everyone has a moment or two during the first couple of weeks where they say "what have I done" but it is short lived.
  4. Maybe her age is why but 130kbs is a lot and how is it their hair doesn't seem to be an issue? I am looking forward to watch the new extreme makeover where they follow someone for a year.

    Major Complications

Leaks are just awful and scary it was my biggest fear going in. I am glad she is doing so much better. I know of four ladies here that have had one and while they all felt and said "what did I do to myself?" once they were healed and back on track the regrets went away. One word of warning is that the ladies I know had to stay on TPN and nothing by mouth for a couple of months hope your fiancee won't have to.
  6. Okay I know you are a fan of the Biggest Loserhow is it that they don't seem to have the saggy skin?

    Fast Losers

Hi, I drink a shake in the morning some fruit or cottage cheese or greek yogurt as a snack , grilled chicken some cheese or soup in the evening and a glass of milk before bed. Exercise I walk it is the same exercise I was doing pre-op I walk 5 miles a day 5 days a week with hills.
  10. Hi All, So I have had two NSV that I never imaged that getting the sleeve would bring. First off I can sleep through the night. I can not remember when I was able to do it. The second when headed to the ladies room I no longer have that sudden panicky need to go before I am ready to. Amazing.
  11. I still take mine. My labs have been good but when I was off all the vitamins for 2 weeks and was sick I had deficiencies. There has been a big push for all women to take a multi, calcium and D.

    NVS I never expected

Thanks. It is the little things I had no idea how much the weight was holding me back physically I can even cross my legs again. Had a funny NSV the other day. A friend's dog jumped on me the other day, Shadow has jumped on me before but I use to weigh more then him now I weigh less and the silly boy almost knocked me over.

    Do I have Sleeve-opause?

Hi Steven, I always cry watching Halmark commercials so I can not blame the sleeve for that but have had all the others you mention. I am nine months out now still feel cold but now its more I no longer feel hot. The sweating could be from dehydration at least it was for me plus your body is in survival mode trying to heal from the surgery and getting use to the drastic drop in calories. The weak weird disconnect can be dehydration too. How much are you drinking? As for Bow Chicka Bow Wow well as you loose fat there is less padding around your nerve endings so you feel more all over.
  14. I remember day 8 was the day the angels sang for me. Things just kept getting better from there. I would use a shot glass fill it with protein or my crystal light or diluted juice. The small glass kept me from taking huge gulps and it looked less intimidating. I think by week four I could easily take a normal size swallow though no more then 3 or 4 at a time.
  15. I started walking in my twenties when I discovered I could eat whatever I wanted to and the walking kept me thin. Back then I walked to the extreme walking for close to 4 hours a day. At the time there was another woman who ran almost as long. She was known at the time as The Malibu Runner while I was the Malibu Walker. Today some man on his bike stopped to congratulate me on my weight loss he told me he and his family talk about me calling me The Walking Lady. I'm back!!!

  16. Hi, I was told to take only 30 minutes for a meal. Some foods go down easier then others and of course the easy foods are the bad ones so I try to always eat protein first. I am almost 9 months out and my stomach pretty much is just a stomach now only with a smaller capacity. I certainly can eat more then I did early on but no where to the extent I ate before my sleeve. I probably take in between 1000 to 1200 a day.
  17. Hi, No regrets here but the first week out I did have a few what have I done moments I think everyone does and it does pass quickly. I can eat both rice and bread but since surgery I am kind of indifferent to them now. I am a side sleeper too I was able to continue to sleep on my side with my body pillow I could only sleep on my left side the right side was painful early on and I had a drain on my right side the first nine days. Foxbins is right it is fluids in fluids out the first weeks when you are eating liquids only so pushing was not an issue for me.
  18. Hi, I am 5'2 1/2" and was 200lbs on the day of my surgery I averaged a little more then 10lbs a month the first five months. I started walking the first week but did not go out until I was a month out. I am now walking 7 miles a day five days a week. My body needs one day off a week to prevent injuries but that may be just me.

    Didja ever notice . . .

Hi, I notice heavy people now much more. I also like you saw myself as thinner then I was at my highest and now I don't think I see how much weight I have lost.

Has someone commented on your weight loss?

I get called skinny a lot. I get a lot of attention from people who have seen me walking every day and have seen the 70 lbs loss over the last nine months.

Hi, I am an apple I exercised with walking before and after surgery I lost from the top down early on and then it was more uniform.
