    My Day Tomorrow!

    Hope everything went GREAT today.
  6. Yeah, she's GREAT! And, you should. I'm always around! Hahah. If I was you I'd call back. And, ask the following: I'd ask AGAIN if they covered it. Then, I'd ask the requirements. The pricings (how much you should expect to pay out of pocket) And, I'd write down the person's name. If you have any specific questions for the sleeve ASK! That way you have everything you should need. I have a binder that has all my Sleeve stuff in it. Helps me stay organized. I divided into PRE OP, which hold EVERYTHING I got about the surgery, insurance stuff.
  7. but, none the less I was sleeved on Monday, December 20th. They told me to show up at the hospital by 11:30 and do everything to prep for my 1:30 surgery. I decided to be there by 11 in case I could get in early, I'd be good to go. But, I ended up waiting for at least two hours before I even seen my surgeon. I kept joking with everyone. I really wasn't nervous at all. I was more annoyed with running behind schedule then ANYTHING. I didn't have to get a Foley since I went to the bathroom before the surgery. And, I am so thankful for that. I did NOT want one of those. My husband and I joke that I have a 90 year old bladder. I have NO issue peeing what so ever. However, after surgery it did make me nervous because I had to kind of force it out. And, it made my stomach hurt a little. I am still in some pain, and still taking my pain meds. But, hoping to stop them ASAP. I wasn't able to walk around like I wanted while in the hospital because I was in pain and SO nauseous. But, today I found out why my side was hurting so much. They left the stinkin' heart monitor piece on me. So it kept sticking to my binder. Now I've taken it off I feel so much better. Leak test came back great. No complications during surgery. Now, I just wait and recover.
  8. I was originally going for the Lapband. And, my NUT suggested the sleeve because I needed to lose more weight then the typical weight loss the band offers. I found this site from the lapband forum I used. And, I quickly fell in love. The people here are AMAZING. So helpful. Especially TIFFYKINS. She has been such a great blessing to me. I text her with all kinds of questions and she's always so nice and helpful! So you're definitely in the right place. I wish you luck on your journey!! Hopefully you'll be a candidate for surgery. I felt my journey took forever. But, now that I'm sleeved I realized my journey was QUICK compared to others who go through insurance. I decided in July. Seminar in August. Sleeved in December (which is what I REALLY REALLY wanted since I'm off work!!) But, the waiting game sucks. Hopefully you won't have to play much more of that! Good luck. If you ever need to talk, PM me! I'm newly sleeved so I'm still learning the ropes. But, I'd be happy to help as much as possible.
  9. Hey. How are you?!

    Left Side Hurting

I think my surgeon said more stuff was done on that side (staples.) so it would hurt more The incision that bothers me the most is on that side too I have the most pain on my left side. When I cough, sneeze, bend, sleep, move ANYTHING it's irritated. However, it's not TOO painful. Use your best judgement. But youre not alone

    pre surgery over eating

I thought I would go crazy. But I didn't. Part of that was because my surgeon made me sign a paper saying I wouldn't gain anymore than 5 lbs or the surgery wouldn't happen. I'm glad though because while I did allow myself to eat one last "unhealthy " thing. I managed to drop about 25 pounds between pre op and the 2 weeks before.
  20. You can do this! If you need someone to talk to I'm a PM away
  21. After the surgery I had my dad, mom and husband there... and all I remember is them kissing me good bye. My hub stayed over night though. I was SO nauseous, in SO much pain. My friend came the next day, and I was still in and out. She stayed at least an hour with me and ALL I remember is a brief SENTENCE of what her and hubby were talking about. The pain meds made me sleepy!
  22. Good luck with whatever you decide. Today marks 5 days post op for me.. and I'm so thankful I made this decision <3
  23. That's so awesome. Congratulations!

Hope you feel better soon. I'm 4 days post op. Today was my first day wearing a bra. It doesn't hurt as bad as I thought it would! I use a heating pad A LOT . It's like my best friend. It helped me fall asleep yesterday. Try that if you haven't yesterday.
