  1. I was bannded August 11th, 2009. My surgeon was Dr. Fortier from Long Priarie MN. I am so happy with the results from him and his staff. I have lost 80 lbs since then and I have 30 more to go. I love the fact that he does not use the realize band that only holds 5cc. The band he uses holds 14cc. I know 4 others that went else were and had the realize band and have been having troubles, cant keep food down, gets stuck no matter what they do. Dr. Fortier is the best thing that has happen to my life. I am no longer boarderline diabetic, my bp and cholesterol is back to normal, no more hip and back pain. Thank-you Dr. Fortier for being there for me.
  2. I get terrible gas build-up around 2pm when I am at work. i sit all day at work, when I am at home I don't get it so much. Gets to the point where my upper stomache starts to get hard and then I get pain in my left shoulder area. I was banded on 8-11-09. Anybody else with this problem? I take gas-ex but I can't do that every day for the rest of my life. Maybe the food is not staying in the new stomach long enough, I had my first fill last month, about 6cc's. Food stays in there for about 1 hour then I am starving again. HELP!!
  3. I was bannded 8-11-09. Every day I get bad gas build up in my chest cavity area. I am a receptionist so I sit most of the day. I do make plenty of excuses to get up and walk around but I still get bad bloating/gas to the point that it gives me dry heaves, something that needs to be avoided. My doc suggested extra strenght Gas-X. I take 4 a day before my day at work is over, it gets rid of about 70%. Is this always going to be like this for ever? Will it ever go away? Any suggestions please!!!!!!!!

  11. Had a evaluation today and doc thinks I need more therapy. She thinks that after having lap band that I will use other things other than food as a comfort....NOT!! My husband and all of my family laughed when I told them. I have cradentials to back me up when I say I do not have an eating disorder. I do not do drugs or drink. 19. My insurance requires me to see a doctor once a month going on a "diet" to see if I can loose wight without lap band. I am 34 yrs old and have been a yo-yo dieter for years. I know that this is what I need to keep the weight off for good. I love to exercise and eat healthy, but I am always hungry. My BMI is 34 with pre diabetes and other health problems. What did you have to do with the doctors before your insurance gave you the go ahead to have lap band?
