  9. You look fabulous! What a great way to finish out the year! 62 lbs left behind!
  10. I am so glad you pursued treatment even though the lump didn't show up on tests. So happy you kicked cancer to the curb. Do what you need to do and the sleeve will be yours in 2013.
  11. I just bought a bag at Costco. I am hooked on Premier shakes so I will try adding a 1/2 tsp to start and shake it up.
  12. My surgeon gave me the choice since i had over 100 to lose. I did my own research and found the sleeve to be better option for me. It took me almost 2 years to finally make the right choice for me. I tried multiple repeated attempts to do it on my own. 1) the malabsorption was a concern. There is no forgetting to take Vitamins. 2) I did not have diabetes so RNY as the gold standard didn't apply. 3) no fear of dumping syndrome. It is not just a stomach ache! 4) RNY and sleeve lose the same amount over a 2 year period. 5) I met people who had the sleeve and I was impressed with their success and lack of complications. 6) the post surgery diet up to week 8 was the same with my NUT so recovery was not a deciding factor. I am 8 weeks out and have lost 49 lbs. I don't feel like I had surgery--I just eat less and I am not hungry. Good luck!
  13. BellaRoma713. I'm 8 weeks post-op, feel free to add me.
  14. I have the same insurance. I pretty much avoided my doctor because of my weight. I also was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. With a bmi over 40, you do not have to have any comorbities for approval. My coordinator wasn't too concerned about not having the full 24 months documented by a dr. She wrote the justification and I was approved. Good luck!
  15. I'm loving it! My hot flashes have disappeared completely!
  16. Congratulations on the 5k! You are an inspiration!
  17. Hope you find something that works. I was sleeved on 9/20. I struggled with drinking too. This is what worked for me--I drank alot of soup broth. I made Campbell's soups with extra water and then strained out the noodles. I made my own soup broth using Better than Broth. I also strained Progresso soups and added extra water.
  18. You look absolutely beautiful and your happiness shines through! What a beautiful family!
  19. Thanks for sharing your story! What a difference a year can make! Truly inspirational!
  20. Best wishes to you on your journey forward to a new, healthy you!
  21. I went back a couple pages and sent friend requests. Sleeved on 9/20. Still on puréed food so diary isn't too exciting, but it is open to view.
  22. Congratulations! You have taken the first step toward a new life. I love this app too. I learned so much. The more knowledge I gained from people's experiences, the more I was ready for surgery. Keep reading everyday and make notes to ask your surgeon and nutritionist questions. Best wishes!
  23. I'm am very pleased with surgery. I had my 2 week follow-up on 10/8 and went back to work on 10/9. I just started on puréed foods today and I am feeling pretty close to normal. My only issue has been lactose intolerance. I haven't been to a support group yet--maybe next month.
