  1. 07/16/2010 Well, today I went to the bariatric surgeon after fighting with my different insurances for about 2 years. The epitome of "hurry up and wait." I had emailed the surgeon at our University Hospital to express my concern and desire for the LAP-BAND®, and got an immediate response from the scheduler. Wow! Seems as if everything went well. I can prove that I have tried tons of different weight loss efforts over the last 5 years (actually, 30+ years) as well as a BMI over (gulp!) 40. Blogging speaks to my need to write when I have a lot going on in my mind, so will try to use this almost as "journal therapy" as I wade through all this bureacratic (sp?) red tape, waiting to get this much-needed, much-desired bariatric surgery. More later...
