August Rush in bandland!
Hey Khloe and Msdeevee, i know you guys can do it, you are right follow the rules, excersice, and keep a great relationship with your surgeon. I lose very slow (what i think is slow) but my Dr. is very satisfied. There were months were i would only lose 1 or two pounds! I think great support is the key also, kinda keeps us accountable. Given the fact that we were all banded in August we are like our own little support group. Khloe yes you are right, just start over, and start with a fill if you are able to eat lagre portions and are not satisfied. If anyone needs to talk for support and/or motivation please just inbox me and i will be glad to chat!!! We will all get there together, 1lb at a time!!!!

I need a good challenge
Well, i got my Firm express dvd's last week and they are great but kicking my butt!!!!!! I really like that they are only 20 min workouts and once you get started they keep you motivated and before you know it i was done with my workout!!!! If anyone has the dvd's please let me know what you think, or if we can create a challenge for ourselves!!! As you my know i am only 9 lbs away from my dr's goal, and these are the hardest lbs to get off. So if there is any one who is doing any excercise challenges please let me know also. Let me know!

August Rush in bandland!
Hey, guys just an update! First i want to say happy mothers day to all the banded mothers out there. Well guys I had my very first "stuck" episode tonight! I gagged alot until it went down but damn, that was a horrible feeling. All before my 9mos surgiverary. I just got a fill last week, so i think i am at 7.5cc's. My doc said that i only need to lose 10 more lbs and i will be at goal (my drs goal) so on monday i will be starting the firm express thin in 30. Its kinda like p90x but for women. Wish me luck!

avg. weight loss after the band
I agree with you on that! I am 8 almost 9mos post op and i am averaging 1-2 lbs per week! after the first few mos of being banded weightloss really tends to slow down. And that is perfectly normal.

A little F.Y.I for the Ladies
I thought the Ladies would appreciate this information!!! Menstrual Cycle and Weight Article By: The Weight Watchers Research Department While there may be minor changes in metabolism, food intake and cravings throughout the menstrual cycle in addition to possible Water retention, these will not impact weight-loss success. Food cravings, overeating and weight gain are commonly reported during the one to two weeks before menstruation occurs. But what is the science to support these symptoms, and what is their impact on weight-loss success? Food Intake and Metabolism While overeating is the popular perception, research has shown that there are only minor changes in actual food intake throughout the menstrual cycle. Most studies suggest an increase in eating of around 100 to 200 calories in the days before bleeding occurs,1,2 but this appears to be offset by the small rise in metabolism (around 5 to 10 percent)3 that occurs during the same time period. In other words, the body tends to adjust the calories in/calories out on its own. Therefore, in a weight-stable state, no changes in weight will occur. However, if actively losing weight by following a restricted-calorie food plan, the likely result would be a slight (but hardly noticeable) increase in weight loss due to the increased metabolism without the usual increase in calories. Alternatively, the result instead could be a slightly greater difficulty in following the food plan because of increased hunger during that period. Food Cravings Although food cravings are commonly reported during certain times of the menstrual cycle, the scientific evidence on the subjects is limited. Some smaller studies suggest a link, particularly a craving for high carbohydrate sweets.4,5 These studies also show that cravings tend to occur more often in women with <A href="/health/sciencecenter/Glossary.aspx#premenstural">premenstural syndrome (PMS) and that the cravings increase as symptoms worsen.6 While more research is needed to understand food cravings, the good news is that they do not appear to translate into large increases in calorie intake and subsequent weight gain. Water Retention The most likely reason for a weight gain is water retention. While this is a common symptom that can be particularly discouraging when following a structured food plan,7 the weight gain is usually minor and temporary (that is, any weight that is gained is lost around the time of menstruation). Furthermore, water retention can be lessened during this time period by making small dietary changes, like reducing sodium and increasing fluids. Bottom Line: Major fluctuations in eating and weight during certain periods of the menstrual cycle are a common perception, but studies done in the area find that the changes are minor, temporary and will not impact weight-loss success. August Rush in bandland!
Hey Guys, I just got a fill today that brings me to 7cc's, I have good restriction even at 6.5 cc's but i was not staying full for long periods and my weight was really fluctuating (sorry spelling). So i got .5cc's today. Other than that my Dr is very proud of what i am going and advises to keep up the great work. Also i found out that the more i work out the hungier i am so i started back on 2 protein shakes per day in addition the the lean protein from my meals. So we will see how this fill makes me feel!

August Rush in bandland!
Hey fellow August rushers, it's been a while! I am glad to see so many of you all are doing so well. I think i am finally doing well. I have started training for my first 5k and i completed the 1st of 5 weeks of training. It has really helped with the weight loss (i have for the first time in my life worked out for 6 out of 7 days last week) it really makes me feel good too!!!, but i had to up my protein since i was burning so many calories, i found that i was sooooo hungry after my workouts. the uped protein has helped. Over the past month or so i have lost and regained the same 4lbs, and i figured out why (my calories intake was too low) I have discovered that i lose weight only if i stay between 1200 - 1300 cals (that what works for me) an a min of 65g of protein. Now that i have figured that out i have :lost3lbs: in the last week (much of that i am sure is from the cardio). I go for my fill on Tuesday i have a total of 6 or 6.5cc's in my band now! i am hoping to only get about .2 or.5 more added. I had restrition after my last fill but it has left me!!! I am wearing a solid 12 in pants and depending on if it is stretch denim i can wear a 10!!!!!!:bananajump: i only have 17lbs left til i reach my major goal, and i am so motivated right now!!! i weigh what i did in high school (12th grade), i love it! And also yesterday was my 31st birthday (no cake, no icecream, no drinks, and going out to dinner, i just walked around the mall with my little one's shopping and went home to work out) !!!! Happy birthday to me!!! I have come a long way!! Sorry for the long message, told ya it's been a while. Congrats and keep up the great work to all my fellow August rushers!!! and if you are struggling please hang in there and take this journey one day at a time!:welldoneclap:

Feeling sick_ overstuffed or what?
Hello Guys it's been a while, I am doing well and i think i am at my sweet spot!!!!! But i have a question about full signals. I think i am missing my initial full signal because when i am done eating i feel sick to my stomach, i never threw up but it feels like i need too! also i am not having any stuck episodes either. The feeling passes after about 20 mins then i am fine. I am eating about 1 1/2 cups a food. If full is the reason for me feeling like this then i really need help listening to the full signals cause this is the pits!!!! Can some of my Lapband buddies help me with this? Thanks Guys!!!!
