I use Pure Protein in Vanilla, Do i like it? Not really,:cursing: but is has 25g of Protein and low low cals also! I have to do too much to my shake to make them taste ok. And the scoop that is included is huge. I also have Pro Proformance from GNC in Vanilla it is not that bad and the scoop is alittle smaller. Now i found that i do like Ensure slightly frozen,:wub: but it is high in cals and only has 13g of protein but I can say i LOVE the thaste :drool:compared to the protein powders. Happy Shakes!!!!!!

Thanks for the ideas! I have the GNC Whey protein also. Yes my dr, did give my a diet plan to follow! I got pretty much everything on the list (within reason) tha i knew i would like to eat during my two weeks. Also becaue i was able to loss some weight my Dr. said that if i wanted too i only had to do the diet for 1 week. But i want to do the entire 2 weeks. along with my workouts! i feel i will be even more successful if i stick to the entire 2 week diet.

Hello Everyone, I started my liquid diet today, all is well so far, but i was talking to my mom on the phone and i swear every other word out of her mouth was about food, from what she was feeding my kids for Breakfast and lunch to what se was putting on the grill tonight! WOW !!!! Gotta love my mommy:wub: Other than that i am hanging in there!!!!! Good luck to you all too!:scared2:

Hello, I have started my ALL liquid diet today! My surgery is on Aug 11th. So far so good! I stocked up my office and my kitchen ready to go!!!:scared2: When i went to buy my Protein supplements i will say that it did get a little bit expensive. I got Pure Protein, slim fast, and ensure. I also picked up popsicles, Jello, Water, crystal light, sobe 0, and broth. Good Luck !!!!

Hey Guys, Just wanted to give an update. I went to see my surgeon today, and i have 15 days until my surgery. I asked him about the 2 week liquid diet and he said that since i lowered my BMI (down to 37.5) that he was ok with me doing the diet for 1 week instead of 2 weeks!!! I am Happy about that! He also told me that the 2wk diet may vary from Dr. to Dr. And i found out the my insurance co approved everything! August 11, 2010 here i come!!!!!!!!!!!:bolt::yikes::smile2::seeya::sad:

Good Afternoon all Today i have an appointment with my PCP for my final pre surgery clearence. And I see the surgeon on Monday then start my diet plan next Weds. 20 days 16hrs 02min and 15secs left till Surgery!!!!

I agree with you, the liquid diet is what i am the most nervous about. My last appoint with the surgeon is on the 26th I am hoping he tells me i only have to do the diet for a week! I know i know wishful thinking!!! Good luck:rolleyes:

Hello amber2604 I live here in Pittsburgh, A an i have UPMC HMO which requires a 6mos supervised diet. Basically they just want you to be able to maintain your current weight, if you happen to lose some weight that is great but JUST DO NOT GAIN!!!!!! I completed my 6mos diet in May 2010 and i was able to lose 12.5 lbs and lowered my BMI i think about by 2 and my ins co still approved my and my Dr was very proud of me. You will be just fine, just practice some of the tips and strategies recommended by your bariatric dietitian (if you have had your 1st appt already) do a little exercise and you will be fine. If you would like i and support and motivate you from time to time throughout your 6mos diet journey! Take care you will be fine!!!!! Dena:thumbup:

Hello All, Keep up the good work, and goodluck on all the July Surgery dates! My surgery is Aug 11, 2010. i will begin my liquid diet on July 28th. I have gotten into the habit early buy trying to drink slim fast during the day at work with out snacking other than fruit. Hopefully i will do well also come July 28th. Take care!!!!
