  1. Hi Freckles

Thanks very much. Its been hard adjusting to a band that works again though. I went for another fill about 6 weeks after the leak was repaired and had to have an Emergency defill 2 days later because I couldnt even swallow my own saliva. I drank 3 cups of Water at the clinic and a coffee on the way home and everything was okay but the next day I couldnt keep anything down. The lady who did the defill had problems finding the port hole as she thought my port was twisted although Frederik found it first attempt. I was worried in case I would have another leak because of the amount of times she tried to get the needle in but Ive had fantastic restriction so everthing must be okay. Im happy with my weight and the way I look now. If I lose any more it will be a bonus but If I can maintain my weight now I will be happy with that too.

I am 4 pounds away from being a NORMAL weight. OMG I never thought I would say that again.

  2. Hi guys. Had the op yesterday and yes I do feel like I have been kicked by a donkey.

Today the nurse came and took the wound drain out and said I could have a wash.

When I got back to my bed I looked down and there was blood everywhere.

Next thing I have nurses in with packs to try and stop the bleeding from the drain opening. It would not stop, Frederik came to assist then Dr Chris turned up.

I was given a local anaesthetic and he has stitched the hole up where the drain was. I have to have an ultrasound at 12 to see if there is an internal bleed. If there is then I have to go back down to theatre. If not then they will take me on to xray to check the band etc.

It's been a scary morning folks and it's not over yet. Fingers crossed all will be ok x

don'tworry lemma you will be ok darling!! i went trough a scary time as well thought i would die!!

  3. Hi everyone...

i am in the process of booking for the surgery in belguim. I am planning on paying my deposit tomorrow with Brigette butnoticed on here that a lot of you went direct with Chris and got the hotel and taxi's included? Bridgette hasn't offered me this package.

I am getting a bit nervous now, my op is pencilled in for Oct 22nd. I am 28 years old and struggled with my weight for about 8 years, I am getting bigger and bigger each year and its time i took action!! I dont want to feel this tired and unconfident anymore., So, I am hoping that having this surgery will help

It seems that none of you have regretted having this done which is refreshing.

I wonder whether anyone can offer me any advice?

    xx

no sheree go direct!! speak to frederick don't get back to brigette!!!

  4. I've been talking to Bridget and got the same price. But I emailed Frederick last night so I hope to hear from him soon. Hopefully his package will include accommodation

thats good ! well i must be honest after speaking to others on the forum i did call briget then she accepted to pay the hotel, she said it was a one off as her and frederick dose have different offers! but the best things is to contact frederick ask him about the taxi as well try to get everything included! or ask briget your money back. because the taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost you around 70 euros and the same thing to go back! gudluck!!

  5. we have to keep encouraging all new comers to go direct Frederick said thats the way he wants it now!! i booked through Briget paying around 4150 euros but that was just for the surgery i had to pay everything else from the taxi to the hotel, to the airport which cost 55euros the hotel 164 euros. well if i had gone direct everything would have been included! Dr Chris is well known now i don't think he should use any third party anymore.

  6. Ok - I have arrived in Brussells and I am sitting on my bed in the hotel.

It's pretty basic, I suppose it would be best compared to a Travelodge. I'm glad my hubby is with me to keep me company.

My taxi driver said I would be collected at 6.45am tomorrow. My hubby is already despairing about missing brekkie. But the hotel bar is open at 6.30 for brekkie so I doubt he will starve.

I am going to do a video I think and post it on YouTube.

    Wish me luck folks x

good luck lemma you going to be ok. just a word of caution don't leave any money in your hotel room as my husband money got stolen £260 and it was that fat man in the reception!! but you will be OK its worth every penny!

  7. Hi everybody, was so tired last week didn't have the strength to post anything. Well MD we all in the same boat i don't think we going to lose anything untill we have a fill. I was banded on the 13/8/10 and have lost about 14lbs and not loosing anymore despite that i am on a proper balanced diet and eatting little. My 1st fill is on the 23/09/10 in london i am so exicted at least if i lose another stone i will be happy.

lucky you freckles, i know how it would fill to fit in a size 16 !! well good luck with your daughter have you spoken to frederick about her weight and bmi 25 sounds normal to me but best to them before you go.

  8. its almost two weeks after my opp I must say I feel much better, I am back on my normal routine and I'm able to drive again. i really needed that rest I have one more week off then start work on 6th sep. Thanks everybody for your kind wishes, I have lost about 17lbs but I was not eating at all for the first week. Now I can think of fills and book one for next month. Despite The bad experience I had I feel that was the right choice to have this band. Good luck to everybody banded or being banded.

  9. hi, I am so glad that i am back home!! had the worst time of my life. I was banded on 13th Aug, I was surprise as i did not feel much pain after the surgery, on Saturday when they took the drain it was very painful i couldn't walk at all,i had to be wheeled down to the x ray and was unable to walk due to the pain near my belly button it wasn't really my port ! I was then discharged by Dr Chris, went to the hotel by 2pm then Frederick came to see me around 7pm. from 11 pm i started vomiting but my stomach was empty it was so bad had to call a taxi and back to the hospital, i was readmitted they told me i had a bad reaction from the band. i couldn't sleep all night it was terrible i thought i was going to die. Dr Chris has already gone on holiday since Saturday but he did called to see how i was doing.

well i made it home thanks to my husband he looked after me just like i was a child.

i still have lots of pain on my port side, but i'm feeling better today.
