    August Rush in bandland!

Beachbunny: I believe my band is 10 cc. The Doc put two cc's in for a total of three cc's. I just don't want this feeling to go away:wink:! At any rate, I get to go back in four weeks for another. I am really ready to hit that sweet spot:eek:....I know, I know, patience prudence..but that it the hardest part! I know everyone is different, but my appetite before "chauncy"(my band's nickname) was humongous (spelling?) and I really felt like such a looser because I had no control. At least now I feel like I have a little:biggrin:. It does seem like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel after all. Peace out Kelly:tongue:

On an up scale....My first fill was yesterday....dah dah dahn Yeah! I can now get full on one can of soup. WOW, I can't tell you how happy that makes me! It also lasts about 5 hours before I'm hungry again:thumbup:. I get another fill in four to six weeks..YESSSSS:lol:. Was up to 1200 calories, back down to 800,,,hopefully this will last a little while, oh say four weeks or so:thumbup:. All for now Kelly

Well Melissa, when I went and had my fill done yesterday, my Dr. said he is going to quit doing lapbands......I just thought wtf..Am I going to have to find another dr? I may just anyway as i was self pay and only get two more fills for free. He left me feeling very down. He said because too many complications with the band....I'm thinking I want a dr. that believes in the band and cares!

    August Rush in bandland!

Well, finally got my fill! Took about two seconds. No barium swallow, no water test, just poke me in the port-----and sent me home. I'm on liqueds for two days, then mushies, then reg. food. Right now I can only slightly feel a difference, and in 4 to 6 weeks I go back for another. Glad it's over, now back to focusing on the game plan! Kelly:rolleyes:

    August Rush in bandland!

Well all, I have been a google girl, and I think I have been giving myself too much credit with my walking. I live on a country road and there are a couple of hills I have to go up on each walk, so I figgured I was burning at least 10 calories a minute! Looks like I was WRONG:cursing:! They (most all sites) say I'm only burning like 150!!!!! Well that may not seem like a big diff, but in the calorie game that is quite a bit....I compute my walk as a deficite for my daily caloric intake. Guess I better just face reality and maybe not calculate my walk into my daily calories.....:frown:damn that is part of the motivation that gets me out there every day. For 200 more cal., Yeah I think, that is a can of soup, or a cup of cottage cheese. Well I go get my fill tomorrow, so maybe this is just a bunch of hot air! Bitching and moaning about 200 calories.....I hope tomorrow I only feel like ice chips!:blushing: Whew, I feel better now Peace out Kelly:rolleyes:
  10. checked out your blog and might I say you look mavulus dahling!

    August Rush in bandland!

I'll say it again peeps, journal......write everything down! What you ate, when you ate, calories, grams of protien, etc. Exercise? Write it down ,calculate how many calories you burned, tally that into your journal too. I have found by doing this, that my weak time is in the afternoon...so I try to hold off of breakfast until 10:00 or 11:00. That way I only have to wait a couple hours until I can eat again. I try to stay right around 1100 calories with a 20 minute brisk walk in the mornings:cool2:. All the best Kelly:thumbup:

To Weigh or Not To Weigh

That may be the way for me to go in the future, right now though I'm everyday. It is however when I first wake up.
  15. I have lost 27 pounds in 5 weeks.....WOW that's 5 pounds a week, can't ask for more than that! Kelly

To Weigh or Not To Weigh

I have to say, i do step on that scale every day. But, i log the lowest number, and keep it at that! I figure, if it goes up one or two pounds , it has to be water. If I'm following the guide lines and keeping my calories between 900 and 1200 the weight will come off......so what if I retain some water, I'm still going off my low number:tt2: Peace out Kelly:wink:

I am also thinking the same thing, maybe it is just a phase! Maybe the longer we have our bands and the more weight we get rid of it will wear off!
  18. I have to tell you, you have a twin in my little town, she works at the bank, and I saw her today! They say everyone has a twin somewhere, and yours is right here!

    August Rush in bandland!

Well, happy Labor Day everyone. Just thought I'd check in too. Well, still hungry as hell, but learning to live with it. Try to figure how much volume I can get for the least amount of calories! I have been walking 20 minutes every morning, of course, with my wieny dog "Sophie". I have lost 27 pounds since Aug. 3, so I'm pretty happy 'bout that. I get my first fill on this coming Thurs. (can't wait) I am hoping it helps! Glad to hear everyone of you Aug. bandsters of doing O.K. Peace out, and party on Kelly:wink:
  20. Keep a journal! Write everything down and be honest! Pretty soon you will get an idea of where you may be going wrong, or maybe what works for you. I was banded Aug. 3, and I have lost 27 pounds since then. Not because I'm not hungry (oh man!) I am hugry, but because I log everything down as I go through the day so I know what I can have and when I can have it. Hang in there, and stay away from junk! Get it out of your house! Only have Low fat,fat free, low cal,and zero calorie drinks....If that is all that is available to you, if you do have a melt down you don't do much damage!
