  1. Hi ladies. I am glad I am not the only pooter! It is really embarrassing and can be painful. I always have gas x or something with me now and it seems if I eat yogurt and take Metamucil regularly (haahaa pun intended) the gas is not as bad. I find if I lay on my stomach and move around a bit or rub my tummy down that can help expel some of the air.
  2. Hi. Banded in Victoria Canada by Dr Amson on September 1 2010
  3. i am trying to make my own purees, but am not sure which fruits and veg will work when frozen. I am doing peaches and got a good recipe and it will taste much better than the bought stuff from what all the articles I have read have said. I am not going to do meat, but oatmeal or rice Cereal can be added and pureed as well.
  4. Well thank you for joining! There are now three of us plus my cats...explanation:ohmy: for those guys is on the page:lol:
  5. Hi Viking girl, another lady and I met in south surrey this week for our first "meeting" I am hoping to get some other bandsters who cannot go into Vancouver (or dont want to) either in Langley or south surrey or elsewhere that works for most. Also have set up a group on facebook if you are interested it is called British Columbia Bandsters
  6. Hi all, I have started a facebook group called british columbia bansters, if interested please check it out. it is a private group thanks!
  7. ok so i have decided to start a facebook page. It is called British Columbia Bansters, if you folks are interested check it out, it is a private group so you need to ask to be let in:)
  8. Hi folks! In Langley and looking to meet up with some folks too. I have made a facebook page for us it is called British Columbia Bandsters So far only myself and talktime are in it, but hope that we can get a few more. It is a private group as well. If interested find it on facebook and send a request!
  9. Thank you Sandi. I am surprised you lost so much, I did not think the supersized folks to get under 200 with the band! I am really hopeful to find someone who is willing to chat with me daily. So far I have not had luck. All of the contacts my doctor gave me were duds and most did not even bother to email back at all. A shame in my mind, because i believe in paying it forward and hope that i can do so when i am able to offer a newbie support.
  10. I am a 34yo Canadian supersized woman, i am scheduled for surgery on Sept 1st and it would be great to chat with someone who is on the fatter end of the scale (or was when had the band done) as it seems most bandsters before weights are the after weight for me...
  11. gastric bypasses are more expensive and as far as I am concerned it is not even an option. I find the bypass barbaric. If you are wanting to lose a lot of weight then it may be a better choice, but if you are wanting to have something help with the amount of foods you eat, to hopefully become healthier, the bad is the way to go (in my mind). Why anyone would go for a bypass is beyond me. It makes it so you cannot absorb nutrients and so I am wondering how that could really be a healthy option. It is also like an amputation where as the band is an addition
  12. Great! That is two of us at least and possibly one more! So far so good...
  13. I have not yet had my band done, but already wear mini skirts...cant wait to find a cute little jean one to wear with tights. The jean ones do not go up to my size, so wont be able to wear a jean one until I have my surgery and have lost some weight.
  14. Hi, I am hoping to find some folks around me who would be interested in starting a group...I thought we could call it LAB (Langley and Area Bandsters). Please contact me if interested stephanie1975@gmail.com:confused:
  15. I am hoping to start a support group in my area. I have a place we can use, but so far I am the only member!!! I am also looking for resources in the lower-mainland in BC.
