  1. Hi ladies. I am glad I am not the only pooter! It is really embarrassing and can be painful. I always have gas x or something with me now and it seems if I eat yogurt and take Metamucil regularly (haahaa pun intended) the gas is not as bad. I find if I lay on my stomach and move around a bit or rub my tummy down that can help expel some of the air.

  2. i am trying to make my own purees, but am not sure which fruits and veg will work when frozen. I am doing peaches and got a good recipe and it will taste much better than the bought stuff from what all the articles I have read have said.

I am not going to do meat, but oatmeal or rice Cereal can be added and pureed as well.

  3. Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and posting so please forgive me if I'm not doing this correctly. I've been considering LAP-BAND®® surgery for awhile and have 90% made up my mind to proceed in early March. I would be interested in attending a group a little closer to home (south Surrey) to get some advise and support. NVan sounds great but too far to travel after work. Timmmers, I would be interested in meeting in Richmond if something can be arranged.

    Thanks

Hi Viking girl, another lady and I met in south surrey this week for our first "meeting" I am hoping to get some other bandsters who cannot go into Vancouver (or dont want to) either in Langley or south surrey or elsewhere that works for most.

Also have set up a group on Facebook if you are interested it is called British Columbia Bandsters

  4. Hi Stephanie:

I started my journey as a supersized woman as well (424 pounds) and in 2 years got down to 174 pounds and have been maintaining for 4+ years. I am here to offer you support on your journey. You can check out my story and some of the tips and tools I used to help me along the way atLAP-BAND® Support, LAP-BAND® Forums and Information

You can also send me PM's or emails with your questions. I am here to help you and support you any way I can. I can never forget all of those who were there (and are still there) for me. I wish you success on your journey.

Thank you Sandi. I am surprised you lost so much, I did not think the supersized folks to get under 200 with the band! I am really hopeful to find someone who is willing to chat with me daily. So far I have not had luck. All of the contacts my doctor gave me were duds and most did not even bother to email back at all. A shame in my mind, because i believe in paying it forward and hope that i can do so when i am able to offer a newbie support.

  5. gastric bypasses are more expensive and as far as I am concerned it is not even an option. I find the bypass barbaric. If you are wanting to lose a lot of weight then it may be a better choice, but if you are wanting to have something help with the amount of foods you eat, to hopefully become healthier, the bad is the way to go (in my mind). Why anyone would go for a bypass is beyond me. It makes it so you cannot absorb nutrients and so I am wondering how that could really be a healthy option. It is also like an amputation where as the band is an addition
