I am from Alabama and my sister and I had Lapband Surgery May 2011. I have lost 93lbs and she has lost 96lbs. Dr. Suggs in Decatur did ours. He has moved to Huntsville now and he is an awesome Dr. We have both had good experiences, not really anything bad, just getting adjusted to eating smaller portions. i was banded in May 2011, I have lost 85lbs so far, my sister was banded the same day as me and she has lost around 90-95lbs. We r both really tight. Good luck with yours.

I have the Realize Band and so does my sister. We both had ours done in May, 2011. I have lost 77lbs and she has lost 86lbs. I have not had any issues nor has she. We r both very happy with our choice. We just got back from the beach and last year we had trouble just walking on the beach, [out of breath, breathing heavy, red in the face]. This year we not only walked without giving out but played volleyball. Last year people were playing volleyball on the beach and I said " how in the world do they do that, I can barely walk on it." lol and this year I DID IT!!!

I was banded May 11,2011. I have lost 77lbs so far. I can eat just about anything just in moderation. Bread is hard so I stay away from it. I had a fill about 2months ago and was to tight so the Dr. loosened it last month. I am loving this band and enjoying my life. My sister had it done the same day as me and she has lost 86lbs. She looks amazing. She was about 50lbs smaller than me to begin with so she is smaller than me know. We both have had an amazing journey and look forward to whats to come. I am 232lbs and she is 180lbs.

I drink beer usually on the weekends. I am a little over a year out from surgery. I went to PCB and drank beer everyday, 2 or 3, it did not bother me but I could not eat much at all. Probably because the beer bloated my stomach. I did loose 5 lbs while on vacation, I drank beer instead of eating. lol not good but it has never hurt me to have a few. I have to have them on a farely empty stomach or I can't drink many and it does hit u faster so be carefull.

I know exactly how you feel, I have lost 52lbs, I still have a long way to go but I feel great. I still see myself as big, which I am but not as big as before. I look at clothes and think, I can't wear that but when I try it on I can! It's awesome to feel so happy and good about yourself. Thanks for the post, it truly inspired me.

My never hurts, just stings a little and believe me I am a wuss when it comes to needles, I pass out, but this is nothing like I thought it would be, easy as pie. Don't worry about it, I worried more about the fills than the surgery and for no reason. lol

I am exactly were you are on this. I can eat anything I want and as much of it as I want, I am almost 4month out and have had 3fills, I think I have about 4-5cc in my band, I have only lost 26lbs and I havent lost anything in the last month I have acually gained a pound or two. I have to watch what I eat, it is just like being on a diet and it gets frustrating. I am afraid this is not going to work for me, I have about 100 more lbs to go and I think it is going to be very hard for me to reach that goal.

i am exactly where you are, I am eating more and more, havent lost any weight in several weeks, just feel down in the dumps, I have had 2 fills so far and still no restriction, I know it will get better but when?

I was banded May 11th and I have lost 24lbs total, I have had 2fill, I am now 5cc in a 11cc band. My loss has been very slow, I still feel no restriction but I know It's coming soon, don't get discouraged sounds like you are on track. Also I have not started exercising yet, going to join the gym this week.

Thanks for all the replys, I have been working on it, I have been just taking a sip before my meal and pushing my glass away so I am not tempted by it. I try to check the time to make sure I wait at least 30min. after I eat, some days I do good and other days I don't. Practice makes perfect. I am having a very hard time with not drinking with my meals, its such a habit for me, eat, take a drink, eat, take a drink, I know its causing my food to go down faster but for some reason I still do it. I need help. Anyone else having this problem?
