  1. restaurant

havent' been on in a while. My husband and I and a partner an his wife have opened a bbq restaurant. Friday was the first day open. Not expecting the crowd we had this weekend. On my feet ALL weekend. Good news I had no time for eating meals let alone snacks. Lost 4 pounds since Friday. I guess it is a good thing I am not a big bbq person or I might be in trouble. I have had a few things get "stuck" over last few weeks, mainly bread, and yes it hurts but I had something stuck last Friday and couldn't get it down and ended up throwing it up. Hope that doesn't happen again. My fault though, didn't chew well enough.
  2. discouraged

Tomorrow is one month since my surgery. I am very discouraged. I have not lost any weight in the last two weeks. I feel like I am eating more than I should be able to. Granted still eating much less than before, but not seeing results. I can eat just about anything. I stay away from bread because it doesn't go down well. Are these typical experiences? My next dr. appt is Monday the 9th. I am guessing I will get a fill. Hopefully I won't be able to eat as much and won't be as hungry. I am also having problems not drinking while eating. I don't drink between meals (never have) but I drink alot during meals. Anyone else have this problem?:tt2:
  3. Day 10 post-op

Well I am feeling much better. Still VERY tired and definitely no energy. After having 2cc removed 5 days post-op I no longer have the choking feeling in my throat, but I am getting hungry and feel no restriction. My dr. appt is aug 16. I am nervous about getting a fill because I do not want to feel like I felt before.
  4. day 4 post-op

up early because i can't sleep. can't lie down flat due to pain in chest and full feeling up to my throat, even though I haven't had anything to drink since last evening. I am trying to hold on the your tips that this will pass, but i am miserable. i do walk and try to help with the gas. it is going down, but i can still see and feel how much gas i have in my abdomen. it helps to talk about how i feel on here. no one at home knows how i feel.:rolleyes2:
  5. much better today

I am 6 days post op. I saw my dr. yesterday and he removed 2cc from my band. I was completely miserable and ready to have it removed if it was supposed to feel like that. Didn't feel much better last night, but much better today. still have alot of gas build up but is getting better. My major problem now is weaning myself off of a medication that has side effects when you quit. if i can get past that i think i might feel normal again. thanks for the words of encouragement and advice.
  6. the beginning

my surgery was wed. july7, 2010. three days ago. right now i am wondering why i did this. the incisions are healing well - still a bit sore but other than that ok. but the gas build up is painful. not sure if i have an obstruction, if my band is too tight or it is all gas. it is a dull pain in the middle of my chest. i am lso nauseated. i really want to chew something. i am looking forward to week 3. i go for my one week check on 7/14/10. hopefully i will feel better after i leave.
