  1. I feel you Pcindy, I'm not happy to hear you are suffering. I am happy to see Im not alone. I have several of the things you mentioned. The first few days I slept sitting up. I now can drink without pain, but the Jello hurts in the sternal area. I feel weak. The depression is letting up a little. Did you have a BM yet? Not to sound nasty, but it let alot of my gas out.
  2. My mom told me she also had this after her Hysterectomy. It seems to only be in the morning.
  3. The gas x strips helped me! But you must take two!!! Then again I might be one of those people who produce too much gas.
  4. I even walked in place in the middle of the night!!!
  5. Hello All, Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. I got back from Mexico today at 1am. I am feeling fine, just a little weak. Everything with the surgery went great. I had alot of gas and back pain. I was a total baby when I had to do the leak test! YUK! I also have post surgery depression. Some people get it from the anesthesia. I cry for no reason at all. But it should go away soon. My incisions look really good and it no longer hurts to drink water. I'm trying hard to get in my fluids but its not easy.
  6. I had gas pain as soon as I woke up. I had so much pain in my back I can't even explain how bad it was! I can feel bubbles of gas moving around in my stomach and it is painful. Walking helps alot. It is mostly gone now, just a little at night still. But I do have this great thing called Post Surgery Depression! From what I understand it is caused from Anesthesia. I just start crying for no reason at all. Mostly in the mornings. :001_rolleyes:
  7. I know this is silly, but what is an endoscopy done for? Is everything ok?
  8. Hello Flaca2be, Best wishes to you and a speedy recovery!
  9. It seems that for my BMI (36.9) a 36 to 40 bougie would be good for me.
  10. Now thats the kind of news I like to hear! Keep up the great work and drink, drink, drink.
  11. Maybe you can write them a nice little msg. on your cheeks....lol. Best wishes to you.
  12. I don't have any tips because I haven't had surgery yet. I just want to say welcome and you will find all the support need on the post. People are so caring on here. They check up on each other and help in anyway they can. You will see. You'll find yourself checking the updates all day! Best wishes on the 23rd!
  13. I didn't have to tell everyone....MY moms BIG mouth did! I told her not to tell anyone and to this day she is telling people. Its not that I don't want people to know, I just don't want the negative comments.
  14. I personally would do it. I wish I could go to every college in the U.S. and tell them our stories. You are so young and understand what people your age are dealing with. My daughter is 16 and has PCOS, she has gained 50 pounds in the past year. She takes Karate twice a week and works out at the YMCA 2 days a week. I feel so bad for her because I know what it feels like to want to wear the clothes that are in style. My daughter is beautiful. (I will post pics of her). Anyways I would pay for the VSG for her at young age in a heart beat. Its sad to watch her loose her confidence. Im not telling you that this is the best choice for you. Its just a reason I would do it. BTW who cares if people know you lost weight this way. Its not like you are on crack or killed someone. People will judge regardless.
  15. Happy 1 month Kathy! Just remember when you get discouraged that a month ago you had plus 24 pounds! You are doing great. Can you even imagine where you will be 6mo from now. Keep up the good work!
  16. Hey Ladies, Good luck with your recovery!
  17. I would call the doc and ask them if the 25 is part of the pre-op or will they have you do a pre-op diet in addition to the 25.
  18. Oh yes the working out part...lol...I went to a water park this week with my two kids, we walked up a million steps and walked and walked. Lets just say I thought I might need major pain killers the next couple of days...How am I ever going to work out..OMG
  19. Happy Birthday Carolina! I'm Christina 38. I live in Miami/Homestead area. I love all the support I get from everyone here. When I start to get a little scared I turn to the boards and all of you to lift my sprits. Thank you to everyone....Even to the ones who attact people..lol:001_tongue:
  20. Carrie - That was beautifully said. I absolutely agree with you.
  21. Jane you are so funny! You always make me laugh.
  22. Mellifrits, I wish I had this done at 23. You look great! Your so young still and now you can enjoy life like a 23 year old should. People keep telling me to work out and diet. I tell them I have been fighting my weight my whole life. Yes, sometimes I lose 15,25 pounds but it just gets harder. Im at 215 now I know for a fact if I didn't do this now I will weigh 230 by 40 and maybe 300 by 50. They don't understand how much harder it will be then. If I would even live to see 50.
  23. Thank you Calgarygirl! I love all the great support and advise I get from here. I feel like I have a whole new set of friends. It is very touching how everyone checks on each other. This week has been dragging..LOL. So today im a little scared. I am having my surgery done by DR Almanza. Im not just scared of the surgery, Im scared of the emotional side too. What about you? How are you feeling?
