  4. I had the same exact thing... I went back yesterday for another fill and a check and this time only .5cc was missing... he said he was okay with that as long as it wasn't 2-3ccs. I am self pay so I was very nervous it was a leak but he said if it were a slow leak he would just do more frequent fills on me so I wouldn't have to dish out cash for another surgery... He has only had one other person have a leak and she was a self pay too so this is what has been working with her.

    Hernia Question

I was self pay and did not have to pay any extra for the hernia repair
  6. My doctor told me yesterday to do liquids for 2 days after my first fill. He put 4cc in a 9cc band. They also said I could do liquids and mushies a little longer if I wanted. Has anyone done this to get to a "goal" like 199lbs? Or, do you just end up getting stuck at your current weight because of lack of intake?

    Second Thoughts

Where are you in VA? I'm in Richmond and LOVE my Dr.... Dr. Elliott at Henrico Doctor's Hospital. I always get an appointment to see him and he does all of the bariatric patients... no PAs or NPs and his partners just do the general surgery type stuff. He does fills under fluoroscopy so he can see your restriction and I had my first one done today. It was cool to see it working because my band was REALLY loose and he had to put 4cc in. I have the 9cc Realize Band.
  8. Vitamin water ZERO is my new addiction...
  9. I cook chicken in the crock pot and then chop it up in the food processor so that it is the consistency of like a bbq sandwich but smaller pieces. Then package it up in 1/2 cup containers so when I need it I can just pop it in the microwave. I've found that if you add some water to the chicken before microwaving it makes it moist and doesn't taste/feel gross.

    Single Incision Surgery!

I had a "dils". He went in through the upper portion of my belly button and then did a small 5mm opening about 2 inches from my belly button. I'm very glad I don't have five incisions healing! These 2 have been enough!
  11. Mine is just to the left of my belly button... maybe 1/2 an inch from it. I'm not quite sure how it ended up there because he had told me he puts them up higher when I asked pre-op. I'm guessing once he got inside my anatomy was different than expected and he had to put it there.... It feels so deep!
  12. Magnesium Citrate works well also
  13. I'm just worried that it's more than just bandster hell... I'm a worrier though! Today was supposed to be my first follow up appointment and the doctor had to cancel because he was in a case that was going bad and had no idea when he would be back to the office. I'm glad that this happened AFTER my surgery though so I didn't have anything extra to think about beforehand. With my bf being a surgeon I know that things can go wrong and you can run into the unexpected but it just makes you think.
  14. How quickly does pouch dilation happen?? I don't feel "full" after eating 4oz a lot of the time... sometimes I do. Is this just part of bandster hell or could I have dilated my pouch by drinking too much/too fast? :cursing:

    Return to work?

I had my surgery on the 18th and I can tell you there were a lot of naps the next couple of days. It wasn't so much the pain as the being sleepy and needing rest and recovery. (I was taking Tylenol, only took pain medicine the night of the surgery) I went back to work on Monday the 23rd and had no problems. I'm a nurse and was in classes all week for a new job. Last night was my first 12 hour shift since the surgery and night shift so it was kind of hard to make it all night but I was fine.
