Hi All, I thought I'd share a little bit about myself since I didn't in my first post. My name is Lori and I am 28 years old. I'm single with no children, but like someone else who posted I have two dogs and I cat. I live in Utah and am hoping to lose just under 150 pounds. Today's day two of my pre-op diet and so far so good. I am meeting a friend in about 30 minutes to exercise and other than that I am just relaxing. I am having my surgery in Monterrey and fly out on Tuesday morning. Surgery will be on Thursday. I really appreciate all of your posts - especially yours Cindy - and can't wait to be a 'bandster'. ~Lori And here is my attempt to post a ticker:

Hi all, I'm so excited. I'm being banded on January 11th. I just started my 5 day pre-op diet (liquids) so wish me luck! I keep telling myself I can do anything for five days! Have any of you set goals for yourself yet? I'm starting to think about what weight I want to be and when and what my final goal should be, but I've always been overweight so I'm not even sure where to start. Hi All, I'm new here and have an appointment to banded by Dr. Rumbault in January. I see a lot of newbies on the boards but was wondering if anyone had the surgery a couple of years ago or longer and could provide some insight on long term issues or benefits =0) Either way, I look forward to meeting everyone and hopefully learning from your experience! Thanks for the quick answer! My BMI is 45.9 - You're probably right about every surgeon being different I'm just worried that I somehow misunderstood. I would hate to show up and be told no at that point :paranoid I'll talk to my surgeon next week and verify, but would still appreciate anyone's thoughts... Lori

Hi all! I'm 28, single and living in Salt Lake City. I have to agree with what a lot of you are saying. I don't date, and I do think my weight has a lot to do with it, but mostly because I'm not comfortable with myself. I have an appointment to be banded on Jan 11th and haven't told anyone... still trying to decide if I should :girl_hug: ~Lori

I agree. I'm scheduled to have the surgery in January and I keep second guessing myself. I looked into Gastric Bypass about a year ago, and just couldn't handle the idea of the drastic physiological changes, so I really think the band is the way to go for me. I admit I am embarassed that I can't seem to solve my weight issues on my own, but I have tried time and time and think this is the solution. ~Lori
