  1. I do sometimes take those when I am in a crunch for time. However, they are high in sodium and I don't do it unless I have no other choice. They are "my emergency" lunch. I make up things the night before that high in Protein. I make solid white tuna salad, egg salad, bean with all white turkey franks (low fat and calories).

Also, I look in cookbooks to get recipes to modify to meet my needs. Sometimes it is hard to plan ahead of time (4 children of my own). I would go ahead and use them as necessary. Good luck!

  2. Hi, Sdart! I felt the exact same way when I was 10 days post op. Honestly, I thought if I could do that liquid diet, why couldn't I do it on my own. However, I also realized that I was not getting enough Protein. It was hard when you are so sick of liquids and the Protein Powder made all of my food taste so gross that I didn't feel like eating. However, the further out I got from the surgery, the better I felt. It really improved when I started to eat regular food and walk. I do believe it is very normal to feel that way with so many changes going on. I was such an emotional eater, I had to deal with those issue as well. It is all a learning process and journey. Please know that it does get better!

  3. I keep a journal. It really helps me to stay focused. I put in how much exercise I am getting. Also, I keep track of how many grams of Protein, ounces of Water, and the Vitamins that I have taken. Sometimes, I write my thoughts and feeling about things but not too often. I do most of that on this website. :) Also, I put my daily weight. It is refreshing to see it go down in print.
