  1. I buy a case of 12 cartons for around $20/22 at Sam's Club. I don't drink them all the time, but I keep them refrigerated at work in case I need something in the afternoon.
  2. Weesie - My surgeon was Dr. Marsden. I actually had my surgery in Lewisville, but I go to the Richardson TrueResults location. Good luck to you.
  3. I'm interested to hear the other responses to your questions.
  4. I've heard about the "mock" lasagne before, but not the cauliflower. Both sound good. I think I need to go buy the stuff to make those. Yummy!
  5. Ooops. Forgot to say that I feel that being in The Green Zone is when I can eat a small amount and not eat for 4 1/2 - 5 hrs. I really try to stick to a minimum of 4 1/2 hrs before I eat again. Sometimes it depends on what it is I eat.
  6. dlynn1635 - We have the same surgeon, except I had to have my surgery in Lewisville. Do you go to the TrueResults in Richardson? That's where I go.
  7. So, I'm a little bit discouraged. This Wednesday, the scale that I use, said 156 (lowest weight in like 16 years) and since then, it's crept back up to 160.8 today. I've not done anything different. Maybe this is Water weight? I'm changing up my exercise routine, so maybe part of this is muscle weight. Who can say for sure. Overall I've done well, since the surgery; I just know that right now, I needed a little pick-me-up from the LapBand community. I'm about 45-50 lbs from my goal and I'm definitely sticking with this. Why would I want to just throw away what I've done so far? Besides, it's so nice knowing that so many people (women and men) at my office have noticed. P.S. I need a hug..
  8. I'm totally needing to work on how much Protein I'm taking in. I just called my surgeon's office the other day, to see if they could bring me a box of the Protein Bullet supplement they sell. I'll pick it up at the TrueResults office on Thursday. It's not the most pleasant to drink, but it's got 42g of protein and I think I just have to suck it up, if I want to get more protein. Good luck to you.
  9. Well, my weight loss at first was pretty regular/quick. Then it really slowed down, partly due to my Thyroid medicine, which we changed the dosage a few months ago. My weight will go up and down by a couple or three pounds before staying a lower weight and then starting the up and down bit again. I weigh every day. Monday was 159.0, Tuesday was 156.0 and today was 159.0. WTF?? Water weight? I'm trying not to get frustrated, because I've actually done pretty well overall. I had another fill (I think I've only had three) a couple weeks ago and it was the hardest one to handle. I still have a problem with almost feeling hungry all the time. I've slipped a little, but am not tooo worried, because if I eat a snack, it's not like putting my calories way out of what I should be eating. It is hard, wanting to eat and eat. I know I can't, because I got the band for a purpose and I'm not going to waste everything I've been through. P.S. My starting weight was 215 lbs.
  10. I am not a regular drinker. Before about three weeks ago, I couldn't remember the last time I had a drink. Then I went to a cookout at a coworkers house (a going away party for someone) and had a margarita. OMG. It knocked me on my a$$. I drank the whole thing and then proceeded to drink water for three hours before going home. Will definitely have very few drinks in my future.
  11. Sexy dresses and a Hot Halloween costume.
  12. Hi, Rachel. I got the band on 09/08/10. I just had another fill recently. They don't put much in, in each fill. I think I've had 4 now. Funny that I don't remember exactly. I'll have to ask next time I go. I think maybe I just could have eaten a little more that time.
  13. The diarrhea should go away. I wouldn't worry about that. When I first was banded, my stomach would growl so loud that if someone was next to me they could totally hear it. It still does every so often.
  14. I weigh myself every day. I do get disappointed if it's higher, but I don't stress about it too much. I know even though my weight loss is slow, it's okay, because it's healthy loss.
  15. Tonight for dinner I had measured out about 8oz of boneless pork. I seasoned it with chipotle seasoning and it was yummy. However, I kept thinking that it looked like way to much. ....and I ended up eating about 1/2 of that. I feel little hungry right now and dinner was only a little over 2 hrs ago. So, my question is... Is the amount I ate okay? Could I have eaten the whole 8oz and it be okay?
  16. P.S. I forgot to say that I normally eat just 1 cup or measure by weight. When I measure by weight, I try to stay at about 8oz or so.
  17. It has taken me awhile to get used to the thought of even just eating 1 cup of food. I can eat just 3/4 cup if it's something like cottage cheese or the pinto Beans I like to make. Also, one of my favorite things to eat that really fills me up, is a tostada with about 1/4 cup of the pinto beans w/a scrambled egg, a tidbit of cheese and a bit of salsa if I have it. It is sooo yummy. I get freaked out sometimes, thinking that I've over eaten, when it's only 1 cup and I admit, sometimes a little more. But, I don't do that all the time. I think it's hard for me to judge how much I've eaten when I'm out at a restaurant too, so I worry about that.
  18. Keely - I pretty much can eat anything. I don't like eating lettuce or noodles anymore. Apparently I have had some 'stuck episodes', but they're not painful. I'm going to concentrate on when they happen, so I can figure out what I'm doing. I haven't gotten sick (knock on wood), but I did feel a little nauseous this afternoon. I had a fill this morning and it's the first time I've had any kind of nausea. I really try to stick to eating the 3/4 - 1 cup of food. It's so hard. The lady that does my fills says I should try to do 3/4 cup which I haven't been able to do, but now maybe that will work for me after this fill. I do not deny myself a certain kind of food if I want it. Like, for example, I got a JavaChiller from Sonic tonight. It was sooo good and awesome, since I'm on liquid tonight. The PA said I could have whatever I would be able to normally drink through a straw. Good luck to you and feel free to message me. Take care.
  19. Meekie - Thanks. Wow, you're close to your goal. Keep it up. Sounds like you're enjoying the changes also. I'm enjoying wearing wearing clothes now and trying to look cute. Feel free to message me. Take care.
  20. P.S. I'm now at weights I haven't been in 16 years. Yahoo!
  21. I struggle with that also. I've lost close to 55 lbs and have about 45 to go. My weight-lifting exercises have really helped give me shape and helped me get into much smaller clothes even at the weight I still am. I am totally loving people telling me that I look skinny, that I'm melting away, that I'm looking good, etc. ...and it's not so bad when cute guys that I work with tell me that too. I am so glad that I got the band. June 19, 2010, is the day I went to the Lap-Band seminar at TrueResults and my surgery was 09/08/10. So, it was pretty quick for me. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Good luck to you.
  22. Congratulations!!!!!
  23. I personally have not enjoyed getting my fills. I had one today and it kindof hurt, but I got through it. I think I only had one fill that didn't hurt out of four. Even though it's not a good feeling, just hang in there and don't get scared about it. Just remember that it will all be worth it.
