  2. Happy 34th Birthday LilAmy!

  3. oh man! sorry to hear onthego317! I too have had reflux which i never did. i finally got irritated with it all by May and it had all started in January. Some days, I was fine, some days I wasn't. I couldn't wrap my head around it! I thought I was tight so had fill removed and still had issues. So then started taking reflux meds and was fine for a bit then started again. Then, had my gallbladder checked. It was low functioning. I had shoulder pain tingles that I no longer have. I am waaaay better! Going for a fill tomorrow and hadn't one since January. With the band, acid reflux, and gallbladder situation it was hell! I FINALLY figured it all out now that gallbladder is removed -- i can no longer eat donuts, spaghetti sauce, spicy processed sauces, or ketchup and mustard at times. I don't take acid reflux meds anymore cause didn't see an improvement however LOVE what is called DGL licorice. That has done wonders! It helps build your esophagus membrane back up. Gallbladder symtoms mirrored Acid Reflux symtoms for me. At worst, i couldn't even eat cheese. That's when I knew it was more than reflux lol(gallbladder).
  4. oh man! dlynn, you sound just like me! sometimes, i just get so upset about it. Now, I chalk it up to dehydration, then acid reflux. I've noticed my esophagus does not like particular foods and beer that I used to love... it's been sad. and it hurts. lol if I'm hydrated properly, all is fine. Drink your water and lots of it!

    Tingling Sensation

I had the upper back tingling. I looked it up to figure out what's causing it and found nothing. Hoooowever, after I had my gallbladder removed, no more upperback tingle.
  6. 1 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary LilAmy!

  7. Doesn't if feel GRRREEEAT!!!?!?!?!?!? I'm at about a size 10/12. I'm happy, but would absolutely love to be at a size 8 no matter if I only stay there for a month! LOL I will be marking that special time with my very first tattoo! I think that's a great enough reason to get one and not regret it at the age of 33. You'll get there when you do and still feel you have more to lose, but will feel great about doing it! I still forget that I can walk into ANY store and shop! Ooooooh the variety! Have fun!
  8. I read the book "Eat This Not That" and actually took it with me to the grocery store. Longest trip ever, but very educational. There was one breakfast meal that I took a liking to and couldn't not find until recently. It's frozen breakfast bowl made by Jimmy Dean. Names Jimmy Dean D'Lights. It has 220 calories and a whopping 23 grams of protein for breakfast!!! It's got turkey sausage, egg whites only, cheese, and potatoes. Great balance for breakfast. I'm not too worried about salt cause I don't use much of it when I cook for lunch or dinner. It tastes good too! Two thumbs up from me!

    Possible band slip???

One year and one month after lap band surgery, I found myself having gallbladder removal surgery. Something worth checking into. I too had issues keeping food down. I couldn't tell difference as to if band was too tight, acid reflux, etc. I hadn't had a fill in nearly two months, then had some taken out after having a night of sliming and nausea. I was good for one week and issues started again. So, started taking acid reflux meds. Same results. I then read up on gallbladder symptoms. Then it all made sense. Even though I didn't have gallbladder attacks as many describe to be horrid, I did have nausea which I thought was result of band tightness. I also had mild shoulderblade pain after eating. Nonetheless, it took over a month where I said enough was enough, I need my gallbladder checked. Sure enough! I had diagnosed myself! "very low functioning" gallbladder. i feel waaay better! Now to the point I need a fill. lol Keep an eye when eating these foods: Fatty meats Breads cheese Spicy foods Creamy dressings, gravies, bbq sauce(think stuff) Sausage I really noticed something was wrong when it took me over an hour to eat an egg! People who have rapid weight loss tend to need their gallbladder removed. I am one. lol

    Any cyclist out there?

If you're reside in or near Austin, Tx my buddy owns a bike shop called Ozone Bikes. I personally own a cruiser bike (big wheels, big seat, big handle bars, very comfy) made by Torker. It's got 8 speeds to get up hills as well. I also own a hybrid if I decide to bike around the city. Kona is a very well made bike. Prepare to spend about $300-$500 on a well made bike. In the long run, maintenance isn't much an issue. Go to a bike shop, most definitely.

    Best tip

i mix either a packet of crystal light or benefiber packet to make my vanilla milkshakes taste like i.e. kiwi strawberry, rasberry lemonade...
  12. Pimento cheese. But I think it's because I always hated it even pre-Band. lol  Microwaved chicken. Don't do it. You'll pay for it. That's the only issue I've had 5 months post op. I've tried spanish rice, very flat bread, and tortillas. All ok so far...until next fill.
  13. I'm 5 months post-op and was a HUGE sandwich/taco/french fry lover. At first, it was very difficult to stay away and fight the cravings, but thinking of the foreign object being in your body for a reason helped fight the cravings. It takes 21 days to break a habit. Same with food and cravings. One thing for myself is I don't want the craving to get so bad that I go overboard when I can have, so I have implemented a little bread such as tortillas or whole wheat flat bread. Once a month ONLY. It's worked out, cause this past time eating a taco for Breakfast and flat bread tuna sandwich for dinner(not on same day), I didn't like either and tossed the tortilla/bread aside cause it was too doughy since I chewed the crap out of it to avoid PB. ...to think...I'd eat 2 sandwiches or two tacos for a meal...now 60 lbs lighter.

    Frustrated as Hell

if it's 2,000 a fill to fly, I'd certainly not drink beer and eat whatever. u need to establish healthy eating habits if u want the band to work. for 2,000 a fill, I'd also get used to eating the 1 cup of food restriction and you're portion size for a long while. put your mind to it, not just your band. good luck!
