I was banded on July 26 and I'm on a pureed diet. I've been watching what I eat, but today I had 12oz of split pea soup and felt that I could have had much more after I was done. I'm reading on here that people have been told that they shouldn't be eating more than 4-5 oz at a time and now I'm scared that I'm doing something wrong or that my band has slipped or something. I felt a lot more restriction the first week. I have immense fear of being a failed lap band patient.

Thanks everyone. I tried the oatmeal and yes, it's a far better choice. I now know what bandster hell feels like, b/c the hunger pains are far more than before banding!!!

Completely normal. My original surgery date was 7/13/10. I was so nervous that I was throwing up. My Dr. refused to do the surgery b/c of the vomiting. He said I had to reschedule and take a xanax staring a few days before the surgery. I did and things went a lot smoother on 7/26!

Got banded 7/26. 8 days post op and now I'm feeling excrutiating shoulder pains. I thought thiswassupposed to happen within the first week. All else OK. I'm back at work. Getting protein down is hard. Also I'm starting to actually get hungry, which makes me nervous.

Hi there. My surgery date is July 13. Just wondering why your Dr. has asked you to lose weight? My doctor didn't even put me on the pre-op diet I keep reading about here. Also, I've become so complacent that I've actually gained a few pounds. Getting nervous now.

I'm having surgery on July 13 and I've told my co-workers that I'm going on vacation. I knew that there would be some backlash and I didn't want it to bring me down, especially since I was already experiencing it with my immediate family.
