I was just curious on what protein shakes are the best tasting. I haven't been approved by my insurance yet, but I have done all the testing and everything and am hoping that it won't be long before the whole thing happens. So, I was just checking to see what protien shakes everyone tried and which ones taste the best or at least not that bad!! I was thinking of maybe going to GNC and see if they had some like individual packets that you could buy so that I could try different ones to see what I like the best. What about those Isopur (I think thats how its spelled) drinks that GNC has are those any good? I just don't want to pay a lot for something that I just can't get down. Thanks!!

OK, so I have my 6th and final appointment with the surgeon on December 1st, then they will submit all my information to the insurance to see if the surgery will be approved. I've been feeling pretty good, ready to have the surgery and get started on my new life. Now, I'm starting to feel the panic feeling of am I really going to go through with something this drastic to lose weight, what if something happens during the surgery, like he slips and cuts something. I have never had any type of surgery before and my thinking was, hey he does this surgery probably more then 30 times a month, what could go wrong. As it gets closer though, boy everything goes through your mind huh. It will more then likely be January so I still have time to prepare myself, for I hope is a wonderful outcome!!! Not sure listening to people in the waiting room talk about how their doing is good for me either. One lady was doing really good, one wasn't doing good at all, and the other one wasn't losing any weight said the doctor was brutal and her scars weren't healing well and she stopped losing weight and hoping another fill would help. Maybe next time I'll wear some headphones and block all that out!!!! :scared2: I have tried everything else and I think this is the best decision for me and pray that everything goes well and I can get started on the new me. Sorry for the long entry this time, just needed to not necessarily vent, just put out there was was on my mind I guess. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!
  5. Sorry to hear your having this problem, I haven't had my surgery yet, I'm hoping for January. Hearing stories like this terrify me, but I know this is the best decision for me, as I'm sure you did too. I guess we all go in knowing that there could be issues that could arise and we must deal with them as they come. I hope that everything works out for you for the best!!

I don't have a surgery date yet, it will probably not be until early next year because I still have my nutrionist appt, which is tomorrow, and two more visits with my dr. Anyways, my question is was there anyone that had the surgery that went home alone? I live in an apartment by myself and was just wondering if I will have to have someone with me following the surgery or if I will be alright alone? Most everyone I've read on here is married, or has a boyfriend who they lived with. I'm just trying to get all the information I can so I will be prepared when the time comes. Thanks for any information and have a great day!!

Everyone caves into their craving!! It's just the beginning, I'm sure you will do great. We all just have to get used to eating differently then we do now, or for some who are already banded, used to. I'm sure you will get the hang of it and do just great!!! Keep your head up, we've all been there, for me, many times!!! You can do this!!

Well, I had my psych appt yesterday and apparently I am mentally stable to have the surgery. Good thing they didn't talk to people who really know me!!! He said that I had researched it thoroughly and that I knew what was expected after the surgery. So, now I just have to see a nutritionist and I have I think four more appointments to reach my six months and hopefully I can have my surgery in January!! I will start the new year off right. Hope everyone is doing well and have a wonderful day!!

Hang in there, you've made it this far, you can do it!! I haven't had to do this yet, I probably won't have my surgery until January because of all the hoops I have to jump through for insurance, but I'm sure I will be exactly the same way you are, probably day one. My mom always knows when I'm hungry, if I'm talking to her on the phone she'll ask me if I've eaten because I'm acting like a bear!!! LOL She better get ready!!! Good luck with everything!!!
  13. Glad your doing so well, hearing stories like these helps show me that I am making the right decision. Keep up the excellent work!!

I too have to do the six months of dr's visits, nutritionist, psych with my insurance. I think a lot of the insurance's are having people do that now. I had my first appt in June, so it could be late December or January before I have mine as well. Just keep your chin up, and think you already in the process and are almost a month in now. You can do it, keep faith, and we can start our year off great!!!
