Miracle Baby
I have PCOS and my husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 4 years. I finally decided that the doctors were right and that I should try and shed some pounds and I had lapband surgery on 7.26.10...here I am a year and half later and we found out that WE ARE PREGNANCT!!! It was and is a total shock and I feel so blessed...I am 7 weeks and on top of the world! Oh and the best part is that I am due 7.26.12- my two year band anniversary. Keep the faith ladies!!!

FERTILITY
I too have PCOS and am weeks away from being one year post surgery. Aside from my 65 pound loss, my other victory is that I have had my period every month for the last 5 months and that has NEVER happened in my adult life....so I am praying that a baby is next to come! Good luck!

3 month band anniversary!! how are the July Bandsters doing??
I made three months on 10/26 and so far so good I suppose. I am 25 pounds down and the last month has been tough. I only have alittle restriction so like you said its a slow process. I realize I need to get focused in the gym and it might help to speed the process along. Good luck fellow July bandster!

3 fills so far, little restriction, slow weight loss - super frustrated
good luck! I am waiting for my sweet spot too and go back on 10/29, hopefully this will be it!

When do you actually start to feel the 'fills'?
I was banded on 7/26 and I guess I don't feel so bad...I have had 4 fills, totaling to 7.5 in a 14cc band and I can still eat whatever I please. I do have to chew thoroughly to avoid getting food stuck but I am not full on 4oz. I go back on Friday and I hope this will get me to "the level".

My first NSV- 2 months after surgery
My surgery was on a Monday and I went back to work the following week. I don't have to do alot of walking at work so I felt ready to return. Thanks for the positive comments!

My first NSV- 2 months after surgery
I have been banded a little over 2 months and have lost 22 pounds to date. Although I am thrilled at the number, I have been discouraged at the fact that the scale has only moved 3-4 pounds in the past 4 weeks. I stumbled upon a picture at my friends babyshower, which was taken 2 weeks before my surgery and HOLY COW, I have my first NSV!!!:smile2:[/img]

Pics 2 motivate others! We can do it :)
You look great!

I HATE ice cream!!!!!
I like icecream too and so I say...don't keep it in the house and buy smaller sizes, like a pint instead of a gallon and make sure you only have one serving size at a time. And lets take it past Monday and say no icecream until we lose 5 pounds??

4 week update
Its 4 weeks and 2 days to be exact and I am so ready for my 1st fill. I have been eating my fish and soft veggies but have not been hitting the gym as much as I wanted to at this point. The weight loss is going up and down with the same 3 pounds this week. I realize that I am more hungry this week and keep having cravings for bad things like ice cream, which I may or may not (I have) indulged in recently. 2 more weeks until my fill...sigh.

Attack of Gout??
Yes, I was given some meds and I hope they work!

Installed AND Turned On - FIRST FILL!
Molly, I am excited and jealous for you and your fill!! I don't get mine for another 2 weeks and change but look forward to hearing how you progress now that its "on". When do you go back for your next fill?

Attack of Gout??
Here I am almost 4 weeks out and experienced the worst joint pain EVER in my big toe this week, leading up to me seeing my PCP and being told that I was experiencing a Gout attack. I am still unsure if this has anything to do with the lap band surgery or my current diet of mushies, which has been mostly fish and greens for the past 2 weeks. Has this happened to anyone after having the lap band?
-
What supplements do you all take?
Centrium Chewable multivitamin Vitamin D Liquid Calicum Citrate

4 days of mush and the scale has gone up :(
I too am on week 3 and started mushies last week but found that the scale is moving slowly but in the right direction. I think its because I think I wasnt getting enough calories on the liquid diet because I hated the shakes and so my body was on strike. Now that I am eating fish, Soups and soft veggies...I eat very little but take in more calories and add a few days at the gym on the treadmill and its working. Give your body a few days to adjust to the change in diet.

Do you regret choosing the Band over Bypass?
Bypass wasnt an option for me because of the possible side effects and rapid weight loss. I chose the band because of the fact that you lose weight slowly and you have the choice to make it work for you. Its been 3 weeks since surgery and I am not disappointed. I have lost 21 pounds in 4 weeks and I know it would not have happened without the band. Good luck on your decision!

3 weeks Banded
Its been 3 weeks and I have to say that I am pleased with my band so far. The hardest part for me was the liquid stage but now that I am on the puree/mushie stage, which pretty much for me equals soups, fish and very soft veggies...life is great. Its so weird that although I have no fill yet, I can only eat small amounts and dont feel hungry all that often. Even this weekend, I was at a party and told myself that I would cheat and got a peice of fried chicken...after two bites and chewing for a million times...I decided that I wasnt hungry and no longer desired the chicken and put it down. Ohhh and the weight is starting to slowly come off... Things are on the up and up!
