  1. I eat a protein bar between lunch and dinner, my favorite is the Pure Protein Smore's Bar... and a plus is its packed with 19 grams of protein. I eat it about 3pm, and holds me over till dinner at 7!!

Are you taking any antacids? My Dr had me on prilosec for the first 30 days post op, and it was a godsend. I was miserable the 1st day post op from all the gas, but after that I was fine, and I believe the prilosec was the reason. I was also just on my protein drinks (isopure plus zero carb) for the 1st 10 days post op. Was able to also have SF Jello and SF ice pops, and Broth. I was not permitted to have cream of wheat or creamy soup till day 10. Maybe that is not agreeing with your band?? Good Luck, it will pass... Robin
  3. It is a card you get from your physician that you can show to the waiter that explains that you have had bariatric surgery and allow you to order off the kids menu, or order smaller portions of food. The restaurant does not need to comply, but it always helps.
  4. Where do you live?? I was at Duffy's a week post op, for a party, I explained to the waiter that I was not ordering anything because I just had surgery (didnt even mention it was bariatric) I mentioned to him that I brought some broth, jello, and ice tea. They had absoloutely no problem with that. I have not tried my card yet, but most places where I live, Southeast Florida, you can order of the childrens menu and substitute sides for more healthier ones. Sorry you have had trouble, I would have asked for the manager in that situation, and possibly called the corporate office to explain the situation. Maybe you just had an insensitive waiter.
  5. I drank 3-4 Slimfasts a day, and was allowed a lean meat and green veggies as a dinner. Best to check with you Dr. since every Dr has different pre op instructions.
  6. Hi fellow banders!! This is my 1st blog, but have been reading everyone's stories for the past 3 weeks and it helps! I was banded on June18th, I have the Realize Band, because that is what the outpatient center used. I have to admit I felt great after surgery, except for the awful gas! Walking around helped alot, and after 1 and a half days I was back to my normal routine of taking care of my daughter and shopping!! I am going tomorrow morning for my first fill, and I am looking foward to going on the scale because I havent done that since my post op appt. 5 days after the procedure. I want to thank everyone for their personal stories, they are great so motivational!! Great Work everyone!! Robin
