  1. Just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone. Chrissy and Ash have been kinda quiet lately. Are you two still kicking? :tongue_smilie:
  2. Sorry you couldn't make it! It was a pretty good meeting, I really got a lot out of it. I think I will be going more often!
  3. Is tonight the Pre-op/Post op Support group in Richmond? I was kind of wanting to go to it and see how it was done. I am also planning on going to the one in Sacramento on Saturday.
  4. I think people who have foster kids are really admirable. I would love to be a foster parent, but I don't know if I could handle it emotionally. I would not be able to let them go when it was time. Having more time to lose weight is a great way to look at it. I am hoping I have a good enough weight loss when I go in. I have lost four pounds since orientation so it will at least show I am making an effort.
  5. I like the idea of wrapping it in spinach, that would make it a lot easier! I have never heard of those theater seats before, but there is one in Petaluma. So we will definitely try those! I bet it was super fun watching in that. And yeah, Tron is a must-see...especially in those seats!
  6. That sucks that they changed your appt date! Congrats on giving up the caffeine. I am doing pretty well with that and with following the pre-op diet plan. I have only strayed a couple of itmes, and not horribly. I am having a hard time getting all the veggies in. I have never eaten veggies at lunch so that is a challenge. I had a little bit of popcorn at the movies last night. We went to see Inception and I was so sucked into the movie that I didn't have much. I probably won't let myself have anymore after that. Good luck on getting on the diet, it's really a lot easier than I figured it would be. And I have found a new love in plain chobani greek yogurt with SF Torani syrups. English Toffee with Blackberries is awesome.
  7. It very well could be. And on this side of the sleeve, it feels like it will forever alter everything! I am still pre-op and know what you are feeling. I take a lot of comfort in reading everyone's post-op posts on how somethings have changed, but largely, life is only getting better. That is what I hold onto and look forward to. Hang in there, you got this!
  8. Hello! I am in Novato, not yet sleeved but started the process!
  9. I'm a pajama freak, I love me some comfy pjs. I can't wait to be able to buy new pjs at any store I want to!
  10. I have been toying with the idea of giving up my Diet pepsi for a while, so last month I set a date of not buying anymore and have made myself stick to it. It was hard for the first couple of days getting the caffeine out of my system, but now I don't miss it and I have noticed that foods and other fluids taste better. Good luck! My hard part is going to be not drinking with meals, I have always been a big drinker while I am eating. I can go through 4 or 5 glasses of water in one meal. I did it yesterday, but I sure watched the clock for that hour to be over.
  11. I agree Andrew, orientation was different to say the least. One of the ladies in front of me had a whole stash of snacks with her and she kept dipping into it! The lady beside her decided not to have the surgery because she couldn't have coffee. I just got back from the store and have stocked up on stuff from the pre-op diet so I am good to go. Pam...when I got off of the elevator, I was SHOCKED at how many people were there. That whole conference room was packed!
  12. I went to orientation today, I have an appt with Dr. Fisher on 7/30. Not too much longer!
  13. I am not sleeved yet, but I really like the Hebrew National 97% FF hot dogs. They are 45 calories for one hot dog, only 6 grams of protein but might be a better option than the higher fat/calorie ones.
  14. I used it for a while and forgot about it. I would put it in stew, spaghetti and chilis. None of my picky family even noticed the difference.
  15. I will be there too Andrew! I can't tell you when to leave though I live in Novato and was so paranoid about being late I got a hotel room about a mile from Kaiser! Plus it's a good excuse to get away for a night! So, I guess I will see you there. I will be the chubby chick!
  16. I am really hoping that hunger will be alleviated. Mine seems to be backwards. Everytime I eat, it makes me hungry. If I don't eat, I don't notice it as much. It's really bizarre.
  17. You look amazing! I wish I could see the before pictures, I have read your story several times and you are truly an inspiration!
  18. I wanna hear how the crystal light gelatin worked out!
  19. I just started the process myself and my first step was to talk to my primary and he referred me to the weight loss surgery overview class. I go next week for my orientation.
  20. Way to go!!! You are doing awesome!
  21. I had a sigmoid colectomy a few years ago and since then I have had to use Miralax occasionally. It has no taste and works very gently and quickly for me. I never even notice that I have taken something, it just works.
  22. How awesome are you? Way to go!!!
  23. Hi, I'm Stacey and I also have between 65-70 pounds to lose. I haven't really set a goal weight, I am most looking forward to my back not hurting all the time. My main goal is to be pain free, then I will see about a goal weight I think. I just started this and go to my orientation with Kaiser on the 13th. :001_wub:
