  1. I was banded on 6/22. Had my first fill about 3 weeks ago. I'm not scheduled for a second fill until 9/4. The actual fill was easy. But now I think I'm in bandster hell! I don't feel any restriction and I'm hungrier than I should be. It's so frustrating. I refuse to give in to any carb temptations so I'm still eating a lot of Protein to help with the hunger. When I got my fill I had told my doctor that I had started to feel more hungry, but he has a standard protocol that you can only get .4 cc's on your first fill. I just don't think that was enough! UGH!

  2. I was banded on June 22. Today, I started to get a Migraine. Without even thinking, I reached for the Excedrin Migraine and took 2 pills. Well let me tell you! BIG MISTAKE! I instantly got sick to my stomach. I vomited a little bit. But then suffered the rest of the day with a horrible sick feeling in my stomach and a headache that wouldn't go away! I have read a couple things on here that says no aspirin. Is that the rule of thumb? If so, I don't know what I'll do about the next migraine! Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

  3. Hi everyone! I was banded on June 22! I have lost a total of 28 pounds! I also had problems with my bowels but I started taking the Benefiber chewable pills and it seemed to help. I had my first fill last week, but I don't know if it did anything. The doctor put in .4 cc (he says this is standard for his office). But I'm feeling hungry and not feeling any restriction! This concerns me. Although I REFUSE to cheat and I have promised myself to be disciplined! I just hope that I keep losing something each week!! Good luck all!

  4. I had surgery on the 22nd of June. I had my first fill today. The doctor put in 4cc. Right after surgery I felt some restriction but the last two weeks I have noticed that I'm very hungry. But even though I'm hungry I refuse to give in to the snack attack! I'm hoping that this fill today will start to help a little as I have to wait 6 weeks for my next one! Congrats on the weight loss so far! Keep going!

  5. I'm still very new at this and am scheduled for my first fill on July 21. However, I had my surgery on the 22nd, adn I have noticed in the last couple of days that my appetite seems to be growing. My doctor still has me on an all Protein diet but with my increasing appetite and I'm starting to crave vegetables and other things. I started getting nervous about my increasing appetite but it sounds like it might be the norm??? I'm still sticking to my nutrition program but I feel hungry more often, but I refuse to give in!!!

  6. I was banded on 6/22/10! Yay for me! For the most part things have been pretty smooth sailing. I didn't have a whole lot of pain and I recovered nicely. Now for the past three days I have had this pain in the left upper quadrant of my abdomen. It's not excrutiating pain but I can certainly feel it. Did anyone experience this? Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be? I can still eat and I can still drink, it just bothers me some. Should I call the doctor? Any suggestions are appreciated!

  7. Congratulations! I do wonder though, if there is such a thing as losing too fast??? I started my pre-op diet on 6/8/10 and weighed in at 274. I was banded on 6/22/10. They did not weigh me in on surgery day (which I thought was strange)!! Today is 7/3/10 and I weighed myself and I am down to 245. That's 29 pounds!!!! As you can imagine I'm super EXCITED!! However, I also am cautious! I know that I'm going to level off soon and lose a little at a time (which I'm anticipating and okay with). I just wanted to know did anyone have a large weight loss at the beginning?

  8. All of these ideas sound great! I've never tried Greek yogurt but I think I'm going to pick some up! My wonderful hubby is making a slow cooked roast in the crock pot today so that way I will have something different for the next couple of days!!! He's such a peach!!!

  9. Hey everyone! I was banded on 6/22/10! YAY!!! Right now I am on a Protein mushy diet. I'm running out of things to try and am getting bored! I'm actually craving vegetables!!! Anyone have any suggestions? I have 5 more days on mushy protein, and then I move to protein for 2 months. So I need to get some new ideas!!! Thanks!

  10. Good day everyone! I was banded on 6/22/10. So far so good, a few gas pains here and there. I started a mushy diet this past Friday and that seems to be going well so far. However, I am a little concerned about bowel movements. Is it normal to go a few days without one? I know this might sound gross but I'm just worried. I haven't had one since day of surgery. I'm not sure if I should introduce a Fiber product or just wait it out. My mom has had severe issues when it comes to this topic so I'm very sensitive to it. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  11. I had my band put in on the 22nd. I too have had some difficulty keeping things down. The day after the surgery I didn't keep anything down. Then yesterday I was able to keep some fluids and today I'm able to keep fluids as well down. I too am worried about dehydration. But I keep sipping hoping that it stays down. I haven't really experienced too much pain except for the occassional gas pain. Those can be tough!!!! good luck and keep your chin up! I'm just trying to stay positive in knowing that things will get better!
