Bad Band Days
Question for my fellow bandsters...... Does anyone else have bad band days where it seems nothing will go through without getting stuck? I never had before, but it has happened a few times- it's annoying

Pasta, Rice, Potatoes...
I have been unable to eat rice since I was banded. I was able to eat a little pasta until a few fills in: now no pasta, no rice and only a rare piece of bread.

protein
Debora Anne There is a shake at GNC that is whey protein and it is 60g per drink - I was also hard pressed to get in that much protein a day, but the drink gives me a great headstart to 100g (which some have said is a GREAT amount to reach). I don't have the name of it on me (I am on vacation and left it home), but if you message me I will get you the name when I get back to reality. It comes in several flavors and it not bad at al

I was bad
I am over a year out now & I haven't been able to eat rice since the very beginning. I think it has something to do with the food expanding as rice does

Anything Else I should make sure I have on hand at home??
ice for incision soreness and after my banding I found that holding a pillow on my middle helped as well. I slept in my husbands recliner for the first few days after surgery - found it was easier to get in and out of. I was told no hard candy after, but I lived on sugar free pops and fudgsicles and creamsicles

dissapointed
Vrinda I found a Protein drink at GNC that has 60 grams of protein per shake. I am not a vegetarian but I am a very picky eater and I found that shake gives me the minimum of protein called for by most in a day. I have even added a scoop of Peanut Butter for extra flavor and protein. I know that humus is also high in protein - maybe try that with some celery. Carbs are a hard thing to cut out. I know I love my carbs, but I find I am fuller faster and longer when I cut them out.

I cheated a little...feel so bad.
I was on liquids for a week post-op and then my doc let me move onto mushys. I was so sick of popsicles and Jello - I was grateful that it was only a week post-op. I can't really count the 2 weeks pre-op because I did cheat pre-op. Don't feel guilty. Soup is a liquid - you'll be fine, just don't over do it because those Soups can pack some calories in em

Negativity Stinks
personally I am all for supporting those who are looking for support. I was banded without a support group, except for me myself and I. I would love to be able to help those who are looking for true help and are all about helping themselves too - it was the complaining that was getting to me (as the OP). Trust me, I would love to go out and eat some pizza or go to McDonalds and eat a large french fries, but I know I would puke and gain wait if I did that.

Negativity Stinks
Thank you Wheel!! You said it all much better than I did.

Negativity Stinks
While I can see how my post can be construed as negative it really wasn't meant to be. I was merely expressing frustration at how some people are complaining abt lack of weight loss, but not working with their band. We all got banded because we were unsuccessful in our independent weight loss attempts and I think it is wonderful to have a forum to come to. My post was coming more from the direction of thinking about the yet unbanded and their reading the negativity I am sorry that people are taking my post as negative. It is not how I meant for it to be taken. I know we all get frustrated and don't have a perfect experience (I know I am FAR from perfect). So again I am sorry to anyone offended by my opinion

dissapointed
I would say that reaching a plateau is normal - it's terribly frustrating I know. Have u tried more protein? I was basically plateaued since February - but I upped my protein intake and started a new exercise routine (hula-hoop for 30 min p/day) and the scale is actually moving
