Tummy Tuck Scheduled
Thanks Sue. I am sure I will be terrified by the time July 13 gets here- lol. I will be a hot mess by then I am nearly positive. Luckily my hubby will be home take care of the kids (all 3 of em). How long is the typical hospital stay?

Tummy Tuck Scheduled
Well, my tummy tuck and port replacement is tentatively scheduled for July 13. My choice to wait a bit because of a vacation at the beach. I admit I am a little nervous. I know it is not an easy surgery/recovery. But I am looking forward to being rid of the rolls that are continuing to make me self-conscious regardless of my weight loss

Phentermine?
I used it before surgery & I am using it again now. My surgeon gave it to me last month because I stopped losing.

Hello!
Banded June 8, 2010 here at HOCC by Dr. Nahmias from Central CT Surgeon. Would love to talk to other CT banders

SO CONFUSED?????
Whew, I thought I was the only person out there who can't eat bread or french fries (and I love french fries). I think when we eat some of the food stays in the pouch too. There are times that I feel full - leave the table - but find I am still hungry. I think that maybe I am partially stuck when that happens, and if it does I eat a spoonful of Peanut Butter. I think they tell us not to eat for an hour after to keep the pouch fuller - although I have also read the food is out of the pouch within 5 minutes. Pretty confusing. Listen to your body. I know if I drink when I am eating - well it causes the food (often times) to come back up. I don't wait an hour to drink - at least 20 minutes though. I also find the busier I am the less hungry I am. If I take the kids outside after dinner then I am not as likely to snack because we are out until it's time for them to go to bed.

I'm having lots of tummy growls (diarrhea) sorry
Absolutely normal. Happens to most banders

Update!!!
The shoulder pain could be from the gas used in surgery
-
Smoking before surgery
I didn't quit- no complications at all. I think I even had a cig on the way too the hospital

FINALLY!!!!!

Anyone else obsessed with the scale after surgery?
I am 11 months out and I weigh daily. Like someone else said I count the losses and shrug at the little gains. I am 80 lbs down now and have been here for a couple months. It's frustrating- but trying diff things to try and lose like higher caloric intake more protein and more water
-
What are the must have medications to have prepared?
Liquid Tylenol, heating pad & ice (for incisions) and extra pillows
-
I can't seem to get this sipping water thing down!
11 months out here, and I drink normally. There are times I take a big gulp and I totally feel it and realize I need to chill a bit. But haven't had liquids stuck.... all systems normal for drinking since day 1 after banding for me
-
How soon after surgery should I have a BM?
It takes a little bit - but remember what the above people said, "liquids in, liquids out" I freaked personally until I read that my liquid problem was incredibly common, if not constant for most banders

over researched and confused.
Maybe excess phlegm? Never heard if it myself

May Challenge

Sugar free gummi bears or worms?
Protein shake? Protein water? I wouldn't think gummy bears. You're not supposed to be really chewing anything. Pudding? Even ice cream
