  1. Wow, I can't imagine. I probably would have gained weight. I guess things like that do happen; my band slipped immediately after surgery and I had to have it re-done like 36 hours later. I am glad you are on the right path now......
  2. I am in CT. Banded June 8 & 9, 2010
  3. Congrats!! It is great when people start to notice. I still have trouble with the compliments though
  4. I was on liquids for a week post-op, then mushys for 2. So no real food until week 3
  5. When I get stuck one of 2 things happen: the first is when I am a little stuck, like pretty much whenever I eat bread (not too often I assure you). It is uncomfortable, bur I stretch out, hands above my head and that sometimes helps. Other times it doesn't and I go puke it up. Being stuck is a pain in the butt. It's a fact of life now, but I try and avoid it. Kind of feels like something stick in your throat
  6. My doc gave ne Adiphex to get more pounds off. I only take 1/2 a day. Gives me a boost (small) and helps me tons
  7. I am sorry you are having such a bad time! As far as the constipation, I have the same problem since I was banded and I have found that a product like benefiber (goes into liquids) works best for me. Prune juice does the trick too Have you tried warm liquids, maybe decaf tea or broth? May help. I though the Protein shakes were thick and they made me nauseous. I switched to slim-fast
  8. Totally normal. Thank goodness for this site because I went through the same thing and was freaking til I read about it on here. Def normal. It will ease up
  9. It is scary when you think about it, but it will be okay. I am a bread fanatic too. As long as it's warm I can eat it. I don't eat it all the time though. I eat TONS of popcorn. It's all about moderation and chewing slowly and taking small bites
  10. I have had a few stray pains. May just have been how u moved
  11. It's subjective but I think 5 days later you should be fine to attend trainings, etc. I was on total restrictions for 2 weeks and no lifting for a month- but that was because of an immediate band slip and re-placement within the first 36 hours
  12. I was absolutely fine after mine. No pain at all. It was over quick felt like I blinked and it was done. If I recall I went our after to lunch with a friend
  13. You are still unrestriced, that's what is going on. Sone are restricted immediately (as I was) some needs some fills to feel the restriction. Just be aware
  14. Thank you. I barely eat any carbs right now. I basically live on tuna, shredded lettuce and a slimfast shake a day
  15. Thanks Cindy. I don't know when the last time I had 1200 calories was, but I will give it a try. Instead of just walking I am going to try different exercises too. This is the most frustrated I have been since I got banded
  16. Wondering if my fellow banders can help me. I hit a kind of plateau in February and I haven't lost more than 4 lbs since then. I have cut my calories down to around 500 and increased activity- didn't help. I have however dropped a pants size. Bur I am discourages by my inability to lose. My doctor was not concerned when I saw him last week. But I am concerned I want to lose more. I am headed for my TT this sumner and I know that will cut a few pounds, but I am frustrates by my ability to L-O-S-E
  17. have you talked to your doc? you didn't mention if you are able to take liquids in (hopefully you are). You may have had a bit of an overfill. did you do liquids for 24 hrs after your fill? I would call the doc if I were you, just for peace of mind I know after my last fill (in Feb) I was overfilled and had to have some taken out.. then for like 2 months I was afraid to take in anything
  18. I think we all have times where we graze on the wrong foods and do things we shouldn't do. Please don't let that discourage you! You will get back on track. I can't imagine being unbanded/unrestricted - I would prob eat a pound of bread and chocolate a day Keep your thoughts positive!! You'll get back o track
  19. My friend's daughter had Botox injections for excessive sweating. It helped her a lot
  20. Name, real or screen~ Maura (screen name: mauraclegg) Age~ 42 Weight on May1st~ 181 Goal Weight for May 29th~ 175 Exercise Goal for May~ Keep on walkin'! Dietary Goal for May~ more exercise and maybe upping calories to 1000 a day Personal Goal for May~ Go clothes shopping! Date Banded~ June 8 & 9, 2010 Total Weight Loss Since Banding~ 81 lbs
  21. I think being 2 weeks post op you are still healing so not as likely to be hungry. Are you on mushys? I would stick with the not eating and drinking and waiting an hour after you eat to drink (I struggle with this daily)
  22. While I am definitely one for pushing limits and guidelines I wouldn't recommend camping the day after surgery. Yes, it is a pretty easy surgery. I actually had my band placed twice (my first one slipped), so I was in the hospital over 48 hours. While I was never in "agony" or even a ton of pain I was quite uncomfortable and unable to get in an out of a chair/couch without assistance. I am sorry your son's will be disappointed, but I don't think it's a good idea
  23. Usually after a fill I am tight for a bit too. My last fill left me very tight and I have just been sticking to softer foods (tuna, protein drinks and protein bars).
  24. I don't work nights- but for calorie counting I use calorie counter from www.about.com iPhone app
