    Yes, I'm on Twitter.
It wasn't really a meltdown, just a short drama llama.
Twitter is the best invention ever made to encourage over-sharing. Unless you have an anonymous Twitter account, all your posts can be seen by everyone on the internet. It's not like Facebook where you post only to your friends or subsets of friends.
If she needs support, she should come over here, tell her story, and get meaningful responses that are longer than 144 characters.

Ladybandito reacted to Miss Mac in Any good ideas for taking my iron pill?
I just recently got switched over to Bariatric Advantage Multi EA, a combination multi and all of the other supplements I was taking, except the Calcium. It is a horse pill as round as a dime and as thick as a pencil. I could not swallow it whole, and I could not swallow it cut in forths because it got caught in my throat both ways. What I ended up doing is taking it during the night with blueberry flavored applesauce. That seems to be working.

    While You Were sleeping
So I'm sorry to be too graphic here but remember, someone filled your body cavity full of gas, they pumped fluids, medications, antibiotics and anesthesia into your body. They punched 5 holes in your abdomen, moved all your inner body parts around, shoved a tube down your throat, took an electric scalpel and burned away excess fat and tissue wrapped around your upper stomach, then wrapped a plastic strap around your stomach just below the lower esophogeal sphincter, stitched it in place with 5-6 sutures bringing your lower stomach up and over the band and then snaked a tube out of your body and then sewed another plastic piece to the muscle tissue on your rib cage.
Now, thinking about all that has been done to your body, you're doing quite well aren't you?

Ladybandito reacted to gowalking in Still seeing a fat girl?
Yes. I feel like a fraud. I feel like a fat woman in a thinner body. I look at pictures because I don't see the way I look to everyone else. I'm 25 lbs. below my goal and while I'm not too thin, I keep thinking I need to lose more because I'm not thin enough. I see a therapist to help me with my body image issues. Most of us have problems seeing ourselves whether we're overweight or not. I only saw a fat woman when I saw pictures of myself. I didn't see the fat woman in the mirror, and I don't see the thin woman in the mirror either.
You are not alone...believe me. And it has nothing to do with age either. You're a young woman and I'm a 56 year old grandmother. Here's my before and after picture. I don't recognize either of these women and they are both me.

For my own 'Danse LaBand Magnifique' I've had trace touch up both in AND out over the last 3 or 4 years.
With my antique 4cc Band, I've never been able to go over 1.7 and that proved to usually be TOO MUCH, producing the various symptoms of 'too tight'.
I'll have .1 or .2 taken out for a year or so, then .1 back in if possible.
It's way too easy for me to fall out of what seems to work best over time.
    Congratulations on your success!!!

Ladybandito got a reaction from Kitt3000 in Long-term fills?
Hi All long-termers... I will be going in for my 3 year checkup in a few months. I've done well, maintaining my loss without problem, and no issues or complaints.
My question is ... Did any of you get touch-up fills after being at goal for two or more years, and if so, what led you to request one? I'm asking because I feel hungry a bit sooner than I used to after a meal, and I am thinking more about food again. When I actually diary what I am eating, it is still quite good (funny what seems like 'alot' after a few band years, lol).
I will talk it over with the office when I get there, but I'm wondering about others' vet experience. Do you 'touch-up' or have you stayed the same fill from the day you met goal originally? Thank you in advance for your sharings.

The oncologist I met with was really nice. My bariatric surgeon also went to the meeting, which I was totally surprised about. He told me that my gastric bypass probably saved my life because of the complications I had, which lead to the endoscopy. He feels they caught it very early, which was comforting to hear. I have to undergo 5 rounds of radiation starting on this coming Thursday. Then I will have to repeat the PET scan and we will go from there. They are concerned with my nutritional status being so fresh out of surgery and all the nausea I have. But this to shall pass and I'm going to face one day at a time. Thanks for the love and prayers!!

Hi everyone. Haven't been on here lately but I do try to read everything. Everyone seems to be having a super summer!! Yesterday we buried my mother. Not sad, she was 96 in July but her mind left years ago so we lost her 4 years ago not yesterday. A month before my sister-in-law, her 97 year old father died. Weird 2 in 30 days.
My numbers on the scale have not been great but with not eating so wonderful this week, I am down 5 pounds!! That is something positive. Maybe I can keep up my plateau of over 1 year and get out of the 190's finally. I was banded 2 years ago and the same weight for around 1 1/2 years. Lazy, tells it all. Maybe now that I have no excuse to see my mother and do things, I will get to the gym more often. I pay every month.
Everyone, enjoy this wonderful sun shine day (it is in Boston).
    Love you all.

Ladybandito reacted to Jack in Wishing there was a 5 year post surgery forum
I've seen several threads like this in just the recent few months.
And given how full one's life becomes pursuing the Dream once our WLS goals are more or less attained, the motivation to post becomes decreased, IMHO.
Then again, after posting the same stories numerous times, the urge to do such decreases as well.
I'm impressed with the expansion of the site into so many other forms of WLS simply not available 10 years ago.
And of course I wonder the potential advantages vs/risk/cost of the newer Bands vs my Model T version 4cc now nearly a decade in service. People talk of 1-2-3cc fills, while mine simply will not tolerate .5cc fill, and the range of .1~.2cc is maximum fill at any one time.
I've hovered around the 1.6-1.7/4cc range much of the past 6 or 8 years. Anything higher produces marked distress.
Still, my own results while limited from what my Goal may be, remains a tribute to the fact I no longer feel on the verge of death or blindness due to various co-morbidity factors.
We see a slice of suffering humanity that seeks resolution and relief from our torment of being Morbidly Obese.
Regardless of the issues along the way, my impression is *most* of us have considerable benefits from whichever procedure we've chosen.
Cheers to us all in our jounney!

cook onions in olive oil until translucent, add green chili's, taco mix, all beans and last cooked chicken
heat to a boil, lower the heat to simmer and let it cook 5-10 minutes. add heavy cream and continue simmering as long as you like. it's a great Protein enriched satisfying Soup.< /p>
