    The Scales of Justice...

Hi- I weigh myself maybe 5 or 6 times a day ! I know that is border line psychotic but I can't help myself. Somedays when the scale shows a small weight gain I do protein shakes for the next 2 days(pre-opt diet). I am currently in bandster hell, I was banded 6/3 and had restriction without a fill up until maybe the 2nd week in July...now I am working hard at staying on track and sometimes it does not work.....oh well, I am not giving up...I get a fill on 8/12 so I hope it helps.

    1st fill blues

Hey 9 lbs is great ! I was banded 6/3, my band is empty and as of yet I have not had a fill, I go 8/12 which is the first appointment I was able to get. I am hungry now all the time...I did great for about the first month, I now know what bandster hell is......Just remember the weight did not come on overnight and it will not go off overnight. I have eaten a few things that I should not have eaten and I also had stopped keeping my food journal....started back on Monday and I already see a difference on the scale. Good luck to you !

Splitting up exercise throughout the day

Hi Leeanne- I also break up my walking and my dr says thats fine as ong as I get the exercise in. I start work at 6am so I really only have a 1/2 in the morning to walk and then in the evening I walk usually with my 12 yr old son or my husand and that is usually a 45 minute walk on most days. So you are right I do seem to get in more walking by splitting it up. Good luck !

    An Interesting Journey So Far

That is awesome and so inspirational ! Thanks you for that I really needed to hear that today, right at this very moment when I felt myself getting weak . Keep up the good work !
  7. Hi-

I was banded on 6/3/10, any tips that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Right now I have not been cleared to start a exercise regimen besides walking...soon though. I would also love to know what your workout consists of and what is a typical menu for a day for you. Thanks and girl you look HOTT !!!

  8. will do and thanks for the invite

  9. Hi- I am 10 days post op and yes i am still hungry sometimes. This is a learning process, I am still not sure how many calories I should be taking in or how much I should be eating at each meal. I meet with the nutritionist on Tues 6/15 so hopefully she will shed some light on the situation. I have lost 8 lbs in the 10 days so I am happy about that. Who knows maybe I should have lost more but I haven't and I am not going to beat myself up because of it. The post op diet for me is actually harder than the 10 day liquid pre op diet I have no idea why. I am staying upbeat and focused. Just remember that everyone is different, and you will lose at a different rate from someone else. Drink plenty of Water because when you start to get hungry that definitely helps ! Good luck to you !

    Incision draining at port

Hi all- I am 6 days post op and I have had to go and see my surgeon to get antibiotics because my incision is draining and oozing. I am in severe pain in the area. I keep reading about horror stories with the lap band now after I got the band. For some reason the only stories I came across before surgery were all success stories. I am terrified that there is something wrong because I mean I feel just as bad today as I did the day I got the band. My dr says that I should be ok but he could not give me a 100% guarantee which is understandable. I just keep thinking now that maybe I made a mistake. Someone please help me I am an emotional wreck....all I do is cry all day long.

    Is it worth it?

Hi- I can't offer much advice because I was just banded on 6/3/10, I can say that in everything that I have read and everything that I was told in the support meetings and in all of my meetings with my surgeon they stress exercise and eating healthy. This was a hard decision for me to make and even though I am hurting and I want to eat food the way that I am staying focused even during pre opt is that I keep reminding myself of why I am doing this. For my health and for my family. Also I would tell you to remember that your weight did not accumulate overnight so it will take some time and some attitude changes toward food to make this work. Exercise is anything that you are doing to pump up your heart rate. The last month I have been unable to get to the gym do to family and work obligations but I get up in the morning and do the exercises with the tv....early mornings they have all types of aerobic workouts on. Maybe you can try that. Don't give up and don't be so hard on yourself. We are all in this together. Good luck and God bless :tongue2:

    Working Out

Way to go Maggs79 ! I had to go back to the doctors today....incision where my port is had a bit of drainage. Dr gave me some antibiotics and said I would be fine. Had a really good nights sleep last night so I feel refreshed. I have been walking around my house every 3 hrs for about 15/20 minutes and I am walking faster every time so know I am healing:) Can't wait until you are banded !

Good luck on your surgery. I too have tons of more energy and my son was overjoyed with that. I am 5 days post op so not so much energy now....LOL
