  2. Happy 30th Birthday mamba!

  3. Like other posters have said, I truly believe that for every complaint you hear, there are many more people out there with positive experiences. I went through this when I had LASIK done in 2006. I read all the horror stories and almost talked myself out of it. But then I talked to a few people and realized something. When you go to a restaurant, if you have good service, food, etc, you generally don't say much and go about your business, happy that you had a good dinner. But if you have bad service you're more likely to complain to the waiter, fill out a comment card, and then tell all your friends about your horrible experience. Misery loves company. HTH! PS - I don't regret my LASIK surgery one bit!
  4. Sorry it took so long to respond, and thank you! I'm hoping to learn some good info at the seminar tomorrow evening. I'm excited and scared at the same time.
  5. Hi! I have been researching the LAP-BAND® for quite some time now. I know a few people that have had gastric bypass done, but have gained the weight back. I, honestly, know I don't want any part of my stomach/intestines cut out. I've already had my gallbladder removed - it was done laparoscopically when I was 22 weeks pregnant with my son (who is now 18 months old:) No issues there. I recently had some cysts removed from my ovaries, also done laparoscopically. I've also had two other surgeries in the last two years. So, a total of 4 surgeries in less than two years. I'm kinda of an old pro when it comes to surgery, so THAT part doesn't really scare me. There is ALWAYS risk, but I know how I handle it and I'm cool. My biggest fears are: something going wrong with the band afterward vomiting a lot (I DESPISE puking) what if it doesn't work?! I am fully ready to commit to the lifestyle change. I have signed up to attended two different seminars this week (done at two different hospitals, by two different surgeons). Is there anything that I should watch out for or look for or ask, etc? I don't have a clue if my insurance will cover it. We are in a transition with our insurance right now anyway. And, honestly, if it doesn't, we're looking at just financing it...unless it's like 30k or something. I've read online it can cost anywhere from 8k to 30k. Not really sure what to expect. I'm in the midwest. Thanks for listening, and any info, encouragement, reality checks, etc that ya'll can provide would be wonderful! Thanks so much!:tongue2:
