Day 2 Post-OP
Wecandoit.... I am glad you are so positive and doing well. You and your husband are adorable together! Anyway, please do the hospital a favor and make it known about the service that was not correct. It is important that others do not get the same treatment. I am sad that it happened and wanted your big day to be as nice as mine! Talk to you soon! Robbie

Thank you
Good luck tomorrow...you will be up on the unit around 11 am. Cleaning is good....keeps your mind busy. I will stop by the visit....all will go well! Sleep tight and I will put in a prayer for you tonight.

Need some motivation or advice!!!!!
Hi! I am newly banded. I have had no fills. My first is in two weeks. I really have very little limitations as of now. I am doing the best that I can but made a smore the other evening. I have never thrown up. Is it common to have little restrictions with new bands that have not been filled? I lost 13 the first week and have maintained the second but am discouraged....will it be better if my fills???

2 week post op milestone?
I don't mean to be disrespectful but did want to encourage you. You need to eat slowly and listen to your band. Taking your time lets you get that full feeling. When you get that feeling listen to your body. I weight 232 now....down 13 lbs in 10 days post op. I couldn't jog if you payed me. I am a walker at this point. However, my MD told me yesterday at my post op appt that I could start getting in the pool....but no laps for a few more weeks and to take it easy with the exercise til I was healed. Wishing you all the best. Chin up and enjoy your amazing tool!

day after surgery
Awesome! I had mine band ten days ago. I had alot of pain the first week and was so happy to spend the evening in the hospital. When the nurse handed me the oral pain medication...I handed it back and asked for the IV medication. It was just easier and helped me rest. I am doing great now and hope your recovery goes well. I like imaluckydog's quote....you are healing from the inside out. She is so right! Good luck with your journey. I look forward to hearing about your journey.

Does being thinner make you look older?
I am 46 and everyone says I look in my thirties. I do not have any wrinkles. However, I weigh 238 this am. Down 8 since the band...yeah! I know that I will look older when I lose weight. Round and no wrinkles or small with some lines. Heart healthy as can be...where is the botox? HA HA HA....

ouch first week post op
Does your shoulder kill you? Mine does off and on. It is the gas. I was out and made my daughter carry my purse. Yes, I think it is hard when you have that gas pain! Hopefully your body will absorb it quickly and it will be better. I was getting sad when someone who got banded the same day as me was at the gym with her husband and I was napping! Thanks for the kind words....best of luck on this awesome journey! GOOD NIGHT

3rd Day Post Op
Thanks....it will take you three meals to sip the soup but it is tasty! I just went to the store for my puree week and got this baby food that is 3 grams of protein. It is the fruit and oatmeal kind but it had the most protein. I have a hard time getting in all my liquids.....

I got banded on 6-29-10. I hurt and had a hard time. I ever ended up at the ER because my breathing was so labored. Today is the first day I feel good. Is it just me or did anyone else have a hard time of it?

3rd Day Post Op
CamiC...I went to Panerea Bread and got their soup and am just only drinking the broth. It is good although I am not hungry. I got the Chicken Soup and it was better than just plain broth.

Easy way out???
MellBell, when is your surgery? Good luck with it! The best thing about this for me is that yoyo thing. I was down to 190 2 years ago and in a size 12. Now I am up again. I never want to do this yoyo thing again. Best of luck to you....it is a life changing choice.

Easy way out???
I know that getting this done is not taking the easy way out. There is absolutely nothing easy about having this surgery and you have a change your life and the way you eat to make it work for you. You have to move and make exercise a way of life! Thinking about never having a Coke Zero again is the worst for me. However, to be happy and healthy and be the best me possible I have a date with the surgeon on June 29th.

Liquid Diet Question?????
Hi Warrior, My name is Robbie and my band date is 6/29. Four weeks away! I start the liquid diet in two weeks! My concern for you if you are on the road all day is blood clots. FYI you need to get up and walk around at least every two hours if you are driving around in a car or an airplane or small space for long hours. I have to get kids to camp two weeks afterwards and we are going to Michigan a month afterwards and I was warned by the pulmonalogist about this. I am a cardiac nurse so I was aware of this but I thought is was weeks afterwards. The MD told me it was for eight weeks post op. So stop and move for you. Good luck with the band and your new life!
