I have a friend who is best friends with his ex-wife. They realized they were not meant to be married, but shortly after divorce, they realized they were friends. It was weird for all of us, going out with his girlfriend and ex at the same time. nobody knew how to act when put in that situation. In time, we learned. I wouldnt say its wrong to feel that way! As long as they know where their relationship is.

What's the deal with Chicken!?
joecs1 replied to Byass77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chicken is difficult because most of the time it is over cooked to ward off salminella poisening. the trick is to not over cook it. I usually bake my cutlets (floured-egged-breadcrumbs) for 18 mins @ 350. If they are thick I pound them out a lil. Always perfect. when I reheat I add a lil marinara and part skim mozzerella, and I warm it in the toaster oven. works for me. I hope it helps! -
Go early! Why put yourself thru that?

Are you chewing till the food is pureed in your mouth? Are you really taking your time? These are the only times I have a problem. -
I am just not. Banded on May 25th, and other than playing golf 2 times a week, my exercise is is non-existant! I just would rather do other things with my time. I feel like a failure when talking exercise. I have lost a total of 44 lbs as of yesterday. Any tips on getting motivated other than body image.

Back to work today...or not.
joecs1 replied to JamiefromJersey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jamie, did your dr recomend an antacid or prescribe something? I had a 1 month script for prevacid rx strength. I felt i didnt need it after the second week. It also could have been nervousness about going back. It is a good idea to get the extra rest. Who was your dr and what hosp? I am from jersey too! -
opinions from bandster please

When I am stuck/pbing, I cant swallow my own saliva. how do you get tablets or juice down and stay down? -
Banded on May 25th, I now have 8cc. I am very close to the sweeet spot. If I eat too fast, I pb. But If I eat slow, I can eat too much. In fact, I think I gained a few lbs in the past month. I go for a fill tomorrow. I am a little nervous about how much to get.

You shoulde give it a try! Most people either love it or hate it. there is not much of middle ground. borrow some clubs from a friend, maybe they will help you with the basics!

Anybody want to play golf once a month? or more?

joecs1 replied to lauravandal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since May 25th, I have not burped at all! I feel like I have to, but it just doesnt come up. But I have that other gas problem. I think I could start trumpeting songs out my butt! my son thinks there is low flying geese in the house! lol. I wish I could burp! It might help with the other problem -

Just had my first fill, a little bummed....
joecs1 replied to bigpops's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr has been amazing. she is a little aggresive when it comes to fills. But she explained it like this....."you are in training for when you do have restriction". make sure you eat slow and chew till you puree the food in your mouth. She also said to me that if after 2 weeks of my fill, and I am having difficulty with hunger, to come back and do anouther fill. At 8 weeks post op, I had 3 fills @ 8cc total. It's great, but honestly wish I had more "training"! I have had a few PB's. Take your time and train! Dont worry if you need an extra snack to hold you over. Dont put too much pressure on yourself. Our Drs kno what they are doing and have the experience. Keep up the good work. -
Can you feel the food pass through ??
joecs1 replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel gurgling Etc. But I dont think I really feel the food. If you do, you may not be chewing enough. -
Meal guidance sought from those non-newbies
joecs1 replied to MollyRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start myday with either 2 scrambled eggs with cheese in or a Protein shake and 4 oz of Fiber one Cereal with raisins I add to it. for lunch I have variety of things like tuna or chicken salad with lowfat mayo, and i add lots of dried cranberries or raisins. sometimes I have a chick pea salad with diced tomatoes, red onion and artichoke hearts, and black olives, and low fat italian dressing. Other times I may have sushi made with brown rice. dinner I have what ever I cook for the family. Grilled chicken, pork tenderloin, beef(lean) and a veggie of some sort. Most importantly, keep it lean, healthy fats only, low carb high in protiens. I dont deny myself most things if I really want it. but I then be very careful, and excercise more to offset the food I ate. -
Yes! call Dr.

Good for you! Burning calories is burning calories! Might as well enjoy it. AND YES OTHER PEOPLE DO IT TOO! Just wish it was me. lol
