  1. Hi Everyone!!

Today makes my six months from surgery. Here are my stats:

    Highest weight: 325 lbs

    Surgery weight: 312 lbs

    Current weight: 229 lbs!!

I'm down 83 since surgery and 96 since my highest!!

I love the way I feel, and I love my sleeve! I have zero hunger issues unless "aunt flow" is visiting. Ha! I love that I can cross my legs, shop in any store, run around with my son without getting tired, the list is on and on!!

    Thanks for listening!!

  2. Hi All!

I'm currently 5.5 months out and down 74 lbs! Yay for that!! :) The past 3-4 weeks I've been religiously working out and weight training (again) about four days a week. Now I find myself so super hungry!! Is this head hunger or even normal? Since surgery, I've had zero interested in eating, so I don't know what the deal is now. What do you think?

    Thanks in advance,

    SB

  3. Oh yes, Ms. Amy! I had her as well. She knows me well. I was all over her once I got done with my 3 month pre-work done. Haha! I too have Aetna. Aetna is pretty good about giving you the approval as long as you have all the required documentation. As far as diet, during those three months, you do want to start breaking bad habits and practice good ones. For example, for me, I used to snack/eat late, so I then got in the habit not to eat after 7 o'clock; just little things like that. To be honest, I kind of had the "last super" syndrome. I ate junkie the first month bc I didn't think I would be able to eat those things again, but after that, I got serious about it and made better choices. You will though go on a pre-op diet 2 weeks before surgery, but it wasn't all that bad. :)

And yes, I was proud of my Rangers! I grew up going to the ballgame! :)

Feel free to email me at anytime with questions.

  4. Nausea, wasn't really that bad honestly. At the hospital, they give you the patch that goes behind your ear to help with nausea. Some people use them when they go on cruises, but anyway! Everyone was very nice and helpful. I got to go home after 2 days. Ha, I remember Dr. Spaw came in my room at 7AM, hit the lights on (woke me up) and said, "You ready to go home?" Then he wrote me a prescription for pain, and I was on my way. The worst part for me was feeling super weak and sore. You figure you go from 2000 plus calories a day to about 600-800, but after the first few weeks, I was fine. I was born and raised in Arlington. I've been in TN for 3 yrs now, but I still miss home. :)

Feel free to ask any questions! Who is your insurance specialist? Go to any support groups?

  5. Hey tt23,

I am no doctor, but I think it would be perfectly fine to drink some sugar free hot cocoa. :) I would use Water instead of milk bc milk may cause bloating and gas. I too had a hard time getting my Protein in early on. I tried several different brands, but never one I liked. I talked with my dr and he recommended the protein bullets. They sell them at Walmart for $2 a piece or $10 for the case of 6. Try one out and see if you like it. One has 28 grams of protein, not too bad! :) Then I would make SF Jello and mix in some unflavor Protein Powder, tada protein jello! I promise it'll get easier as you go along! :) As far as feeling nausea in the morning, that was so me! I would get up by 9am and wouldn't have anything 'til about 3pm. It was terrible, but everyday it got better! :) Good luck on your journey!! I'm 12 weeks out and down 51 lbs! :)

  6. Mr.Hopeful, oh! I know how you feel. I felt terrible for the first 4-5 weeks out. I finally went back to work last week. I was a bit nervous going back to work bc I was still feeling weak and tired. With the great support from my co-workers, I did amazing! :) Everything is getting better day by day. Last night was the first time I sat down and ate a real meal with my family! I made healthy chili and was able to eat about 4 oz of it. That was the best feeling in the world, and it gave me hope that things are getting better. Hang in there! It does get better!!
