  1. I'm amazed that I lived through the first 2 weeks of the liquid diet!! <<chuckle>> 18 lbs down, though---not bad for 13 days. Now I just need to get past tomorrow and the NEXT 2 weeks of liquids!! Man, I can't wait to use a fork at mealtime---I'm tired of spoons! :tt2: Hahahahaha.....Anyhooo---wish me luck, y'all. This will be my first surgery of any kind!! I can't believe it---tomorrow I will be a BANDSTER!! Yee haw!!!

  2. Hey---sorry to hear of your Protein Shake issues! I'm on day 9 of my liquid diet and I agree---it sucks! However, I have no problems with the Protein I bought. It's actually quite good. I got it at a place called Vitamin World. The protein is call "Precision Engineered whey Protein" and I got the natural flavor. I mix 2 scoops with 1 1/2 cups of skim milk. shake it up and I swear---it tastes just like milk left over from when you've had a big bowl of Frosted Flakes. I've tried it with Water and while it isn't that great, you could definitley add it to Koolaid or something. Anyhoo---just a thought for you to look into...This liquid is no fun and it's not easy---so every little idea to make it better counts! Good luck!! We'll be Bandster's before you know it!!

  3. This liquid diet has been an eye opener, y'all! Writing down everything I "eat" has been interesting, too. Just 8 more days of this and then I'm BANDED!! <<sigh>> I'm glad because this 'all liquid' thing is tough!! No cheating though which amazes me!! :grouphug: Anyhoo---just wanted to say to other people on the liquid diet------ if I can do this, anyone can!! Just hang in there!! You can do it!!

  4. Ok, so far it's not been too bad. The Protein Shake I got is great---I got the unflavored kind so I can make it taste like whatever I want it to. I mixed it with skim milk and a 1/2 tsp of sugar free waffle syrup-------it tastes just like the milk left after you've had a bowl of cereal! Who doesn't love that?? I'm sure day 2 and 3 are likely to not be as 'pain free' as day 1. However---I'm ready for it so bring it on!! <<chuckle>> It's good incentive to get a hobby or something so I don't just think about food all day I guess...LOL Wish me luck, folks. I know I can do this! Size 10 jeans, here I come!!!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!

  5. Good luck to you tomorrow, NaveyWifey!! Exciting times for you, too!!! Keep me posted on how you're doing!!

Thanks spoiltmom---my insurance is Anthem BC/BS.

Thanks newmein10---my pre-op visit is July 12th. Have to see the doctor for my physical and stuff then have to go to the hospital for blood work and tests I guess.

PuppyBandit---so sorry to hear how you've struggled! That has to be sooooooo aggravating for them to keep stringing you along!! Not cool for sure! I will cross my fingers for you that you get some good news quickly!!!

  6. I heard some of the sweetest words today!!

"You are APPROVED by your insurance for surgery!!!"

I finally got the much hoped for phone call today from my doctor's office!! Feels like I have been waiting forever when in reality it only took 3 weeks...My surgery is scheduled for July 21st!! I am sooooooooo ready for this!! Thanks to everyone for all their kind words of support during the 'waiting process.' Healthy living, here I come!! Whoo hoo!!!

  7. Hey everyone...I got a letter yesterday from my doctor's office saying my packet has been sent in to my insurance for final approval...And guess what! I only have to expect between a 1-10 week wait for an answer...10 weeks!!!????? Dang!!! Cross your fingers for me that it comes much sooner than that. I'm so anxious to get to where I want to be that the 'waiting to start the journey' thing is killing me! LOL I can honestly say I never expected in my life to ever be excited about the prospect of starting a 2 week liquid diet! :( <<chuckle>>

Anyhoooooooo......Just had to send a 'shout out.'

Hope everyone is having a good day!

  8. Hello to everyone! I just recently joined this site and have very much enjoyed reading all the stories people have posted. The thing that has struck me most is that people here are so open and honest and willing to share the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to their weight issues and how being heavy has affected thier lives. How wonderful to be surrounded by people who "get it." People who have never struggled with thier weight can't really fathom what it's like---knowing that each of you share a common link with me is comforting. It appears that you couldn't ask for a better support group than the one here! Like I said---I am just starting down the LAP-BAND® Path. My first visit with the Doctor is May 17th. I will be seeing Doctor Procter Jr in Gainesville, GA. Wish me luck---and know that I look forward to being a future 'success story!!'

    Warm regards,

    Jamie
