Info needed on these Dr. in DFW area

Wootsie the bureaucrats that work with Medicare are not known for having any common sense.....they're nothing but a bunch of bored pencil pushers....:heh: also there is a new surgical center (Mayhill Hospital) here in Denton that does both surgeries. They take Medicare so they might be a center of excellence....

Dr Curtis Mosier of Denton, TX

Hi there....he has been in the process of establishing his center of excellence. Last time I was in the office they had a new doctor's name on the door so he may have the other surgeon that a center of excellence requires. There are now 3 surgeons in the practise.:clap2:

which side is our port on?

the best thing I can suggest is to talk to your doctor. I had to have my band put in a special spot because I previously had a hernia repair done. While I was having the hernia repair, the surgeon (not the same one as my lapband surgery) placed a surgical mesh that covered the whole abdomen instead of justing putting it in the place where the rupture ocurred. So as a result my band is just under my ribcage on the left side. However I will have to have it moved soon because my boobs have started sagging so much that the left rests on the top of the port when I don't have a bra on. I think that one reason they put it on the left is because the tube from the port to the band is short and placing it on the left makes it easier. Also even though we know when something isn't right for our body the doctor knows anatomy better than the average person and therefore knows the best place for the port.

    Lapband or Bypass?

Hi there... I was 300+ when I started my process. I had my surgery in Feb '06. I've done pretty good. I chose the lapband because its the only wls that can be reversed. I kept getting a foreboding about the gastric bypass so I believe it was the Lord letting me know I shouldn't have the bypass. This is my opinion. For some the bypass has worked wonders. One thing that really put my decision on the lapband though was the fact that if the pouch stretches, then the band can be tightened and you can keep losing weight.:biggrin1:

    Governor Perry-What a liar

This is a lie....Rick Perry never took away the chips program for children. I know so because my grandchildren are on it. Also it has been proven that Carole Keeton Strayhorn and Chris Bell have been lying in their commercials. This was reported on Channel 8 WFAA. No one is perfect but I would rather have Rick Perry in office instead of some liar....

I'm glad I don't live in Texas anymore

Just a little update here.... The governor of Texas HAS given all of our teacher's raises even though the teacher's in Dallas are the highest paid in the nation. Each teacher got a $2,000.00 increase in their income......:biggrin1: Our governor also sent National Guard troops to the border before President Bush ordered them to be called up. Rick Perry has been pretty good for the state of Texas and his opponents have found nothing better to do than to broadcast outright lies about things Gov Perry has done. Gov Perry is extremely hard on sexual offenders for one thing.
  10. I want to let folks know about my surgeon. His name is Dr. Curtis Mosier of Denton. I really like this man. He is very kind and listens to his patients. He is also concerned about other things going on in their lives and does what he can to help alleviate any stress. He is all about helping his patients get healthy!! He has a wonderful patient coordinator named Judy! I can talk to her about anything. They have once a month support groups also. Dr. Mosier and Judy care VERY MUCH about their patients. I have lost 50 pounds since my surgery and feel very good. Dr Mosier has never had any deaths related to his surgery and the only repair he has ever had to do was on a lady that had her banding done in Mexico and it got a bad infection. He had to fix what the doctor in Mexico didn't.

    a newbie to this site

Hello there My name is Sue....I'm a newbie here to lapbandtalk. I was referred by someone on another website but don't know their name here.... I live in Texas, am a stay at home wife, mother, and grandmother. :clap2: (love them grandbabies!) One question I have is how do you know if your band has slipped??? I got banded last February and so far have had no complications until now. The band worked great and I lost 50 lbs. Now most of the time when I eat it goes right through the band down into the lower part of the stomach. This has been going on since my last fill and I haven't lost any weight since then. Once in a while something will get stuck and have to work its way through but that usually only takes a minute or two at the most. :help: I'm wondering if the band is leaking or something along that line.
