  1. I would love the jello-whipped cream recipe. My husband loves deserts and we do have people in for dinner now and again. My email is bklynike@aol.com. Thanks.

  2. Hey girlfriend. I am doing great, thanks for asking. First fill tomorrow. Lost another lb since my surgery on 6/21 so I am now down 21 lbs. Loving this lapband and I hope I feel the same way after the fill tomorrow. Going back on liquids is not my first choice, but my doctor insists on it. Hope you are doing great.

  3. Youa re doing remarkably well. Don't look at the "big picture", take 10 lbs at a time - no more, no less. Everytime you lose 10 lbs, you have not only made your goal, but you will feel so good. The rest will come off, but give youself time. It took a long time to put it on, and working hard, you will eventually take it off. Remember, small baby steps will still take you to the finish line!

  4. Hi, Deb:

Thank for the comment on my blog.

You have started on a wonderful journey. It will be so amazing to you to see how much weight you will lose in jsut a short amount of time and how wonderful you will begin to feel.

Listen to your doctor and you are well on your way. Let me know how you are doing and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate.

  5. Hey, Cris:

Tomorrow is my first fill and I am nervous as hell. How are you doing since your fill? Are you eating and drinking alright?

  6. Sandra, I have been looking for you. I hate this new site, I can't find any body. How are you doing? Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? Are you still writing your blogs, because I can't find anything here. I want our old site back.

Please let me know how you are doing. Eileen

  7. I know we will both meet our goal next week. Keep the positive vibes coming - we are going to succeed. Have a great week.

  8. Hi, Sandradee: As I read comments to my blog and I read other people's blogs and comments, I always notice your comments. You are such a positive ray of sunshine - I thank you so much and I always look forward to your posts.

  9. How did you do with your fill yesterday? I hope it went really smoothly and you are doing well. Are you back on a liquid diet? If so, how long does you doctor want you to stay on liquids after the fill? While I haven't had the surgery yet, my doctor says 2 days on liquids after every fill. Monday is getting close - I can't wait!

  10. Hi. I am doing great - 2 days into the liquids and looking forward to Monday. Hope all is well in your little part of the lap-band world and you are continuing to do great.

  11. Hi, Mezzo:

To check out anyone's photo album, click on their Avatar. When you get to their page, go all the way down and on the right it will say Photo Album. If you click on that it will take you to their photos.

  12. Hi, Mezzo:

I actually joined the gym a month before my surgery so I was able to do a little walking to help rid myself of the gas. Then I returned to the gym less than 2 weeks after my surgery. I walked on the treadmill at a zero incline at about 2.5 mph and used the new-step machine. If you don't know that that is, you pump your feet forward and back and there you use your arms to push forward and back also. I also used a machine that you sit at and use your arms only called a Sci-Fit machine.

Today I walk the treadmill at a 12% incline at about 3.1 mps. I row, use the 2 machines I listed above, I use the eliptical machine and lift weights. I LOVE THE GYM.

I hope you are doing well and are as happy as I am that I was banded.

  13. Hi, Cris:

When are you going to post some before and after photos? So curious as to what you really look like.

  14. Almost 40 lbs - congrats to you! Keep up the good work. It is amazing how wonderful I feel at 41 lbs. You must be feeling like a million bucks too.

  15. How did your surgery go? Please remember to do as much walking as you can, sip, sip, sip and rest. You might want to try GasX - I didn't need it, but a lot of my other bandster buddies say it worked really well. Please let me know how you are doing. This was the greatest gift we could have given ourselves. Enjoy it, embrase it and live a long, healthy life.

  16. I hope you are doing well, because I haven't heard a peep from you. If you remember correctly, we were banded on the same day, which is my actual birthday - now my re-birthday. How are you doing? Please check in with us.

  17. Well, how are you feeling? Make yourself get up and walk around, even if it is just around your home. I have a small condo, so I walked around my dining table and back and forth from the front door to the back sliding glass doors.

I just noticed your date of birth, which makes you about 2 months older than my son! My goodness I am old, but getting thinner!

  18. Congrats on your surgery! I wish you the best of luck on your journey. It is not easy, but you are on your way to a fabulous new you.

  19. Hey, Marw. I am doing well. My first fill is scheduled for next week and I think I might be getting ready. Last week I lost 5lbs, this past week only 8/10s of a lb. I have been consistently losing 3-4 lbs - last week I lost more and this week much less. So, I'll see how I do between now and my fill date and then I'll decide.

I've taken my Sept pictures in my green shirt, but my husband and I got a new computer and he hasn't installed Photoshop yet, so I can't upload it yet. But I will very soon. Hopy your journey is going along great. What was the date of your surgery? How much have you lost so far?

  20. Hi, you commented on my blog for which I thank you. It really makes things easier for me to write - as they say in our educational meetings journaling is important, so I blog instead. This is a great site.

I wanted to wish you the best of luck. You are where I can't wait to be! How are you doing, so far? Are you on a liquid diet? I'm a little nervous about the whole surgery thing, but I have confidence in my surgeon that it will go alright. I need to lose this weight and this is the only way it is going to happen. Please feel free to reply to me any time. Again, the best of luck to you.

  21. No fill yet. I am scheduled, again, for next week but depending on what happens this week...I have past on the last 3 fills. I lost 5 lbs last week, but only 8/10s of a lb this week. But, I've been losing consistently 3-4 lbs a week since my surgery on 6/21. Prior to surger I was up to 268lbs. On surgery date, I was 151.4 and am now 223. I weigh in and chart my losses on Sunday. If I don't have a descent loss this week, it might mean I need my first fill. I haven't been hungry and I don't think I am eating any more than I have been. I'm at the gym 3-4 times a week. I do cardio2 times a week and combine cardio and weight training 2 days a week. I find I really love the gym.

I am anxious to lose enough to get out of the 220. We'll see how it goes.

You are doing remarkably well. Keep up the good work. Are you exercising? Are you getting protein from your food or are you doing shakes? I am so happy for you and I know you will hit the ONEderland very soon.

  22. Thanks for responding to my blog. I am at the gym 3-4 times a week. I write my weight down on a log every Sunday. I look at 10lbs intervals only because if I had to look at the "LARGE" picture, I think I would get too discouraged. We think alike :). Keep up the good work.

  23. Thanks for the idea of the wrong size shoes making my feet numb, but the funny thing is I actually have gone down in size from an 8.5Wide to an 8 or 8.5. But I will have to check it out anyway.

  24. I am so glad you are doing well. I did do good this weekend while the hubs was away. I went to the gym Friday night, mani/pedi on Sat am, worked out with my resistance bands on Sat afternoon, gym Sun morning and light arm weight Sun evening. And of course, my wonderful seafood meal both Sat and Sun.

Rich is home now and I really like it better when he is here :)

  25. Hi, Rose:

I ended up not needing it yet. So I made an appt to go back on Nov 12th, if needed. The PA said I was doing so well that she didn't want to mess with a good thing. I am losing consistently around 10lbs a month and not hungry between. I am so glad you are doing well. Keep it up.
