Ok..so I get it...I guess I would be curious too! But...I love how one of my coworkers asked how much I had lost ( I'm ok with that) ..then asked whaty goal to lose was and I knew she was adding the numbers in her head to get how much I weigh now!!! Rude! So of course I lied and gave her a bogus number..teehee for me! I could tell by the look on her face that her numbers just didn't add up in her head! Nosey Rosie..that's what you get!! LOL

I'm no longer at that BMI .... mine was 43 ...now 24 ! I hope your study goes well as I know weight does effect us mentally.

Go to the success stories forum and read some of those posts! The pre-op and post-op forums are often filled with stories of surgery pain, fears, questions on eating, being stuck, not enough restriction, etc. It's all just part of the process in the beginning phases of this journey. Once you get out a few months and get in the groove, things pick up and you start living life and not focusing on food so much. It just takes time!

awww... happy for you...This is an exciting time. I was banded 6 weeks ago...only lost 24 lbs so far but I feel and look better already!! Good Luck to you!

I had the lap band with plication surgery on August 11, 2011. I have not had any problems at all. I am losing weight quickly. I am down 71 pounds and weighing in at 182 now. I feel fantastic and I am extremely active. Of course the first week after surgery was a little uncomfortable, but I expected that. I feel better than I have ever felt in my entire life and again have had no sickness or problems at all.
I guess everyone is different but so far I wouldnt change a thing. I would do this surgery all over a gain!

I think the body makes a lot of saliva and mucus to protect you esophagus when you are sick...
