So, it's been a long time coming. My surgery date is finally only days away. I start my 3 day liquid diet tomorrow morning. I fly out to San Diego on Thursday for surgery on Friday in Tiajuana, MX with Dr Almanza!!
I'm soooo excited, but also very nervous :scared0:. My mom is coming along as my support person so that puts me at some ease .
Everyone keep me in your thoughts and prayers please.

I have told a select few coworkers of my plans. I'm scheduled for next Friday, and if everything goes well, I will tell other coworkers if they notice my weight loss. I just didn't want to tell everyone before because of all the negativity I've gotten from the few I've told. I agree that it is a personal choice.

Welcome. I was very similar to you with "lurking" around the site before I actually posted. I'm scheduled to have my sleeve next Friday. Good luck with your approval!

Miralax is the best. Mix it in 6-8 oz of a drink of your choice. It's tasteless and gentle on the stomach so it doesn't cause cramps and discomfort. You can take it up to twice daily. I love the stuff. I'm a nurse and work with many patients who are immobile and suffer from problems with Constipation and they swear by it. I had abdominal surgery 2 years ago and it worked wonders for me afterwards.

Hello all. I've been a member on here for a few months, mostly reading others posts and gathering more information about the sleeve. I'm finally scheduled with Dr jaime Ponce de leon in early September. Has anyone on here ever used him or maybe know of someone who has? I found some info on lapband talk. His patient Coordinator is very friendly and has assured me that he's done over 3000 successful bariatric procedures.
Anyway, many of your stories have been very inspirational to me and have help me make te decision to go through with this procedure. I can honestly say this will be the most extreme thing I've ever done. I'm a bit nervous :biggrin0:, yet quite excited:thumbup:. I would love to hear any feedback, tips, or suggestions from others especially those that may have used this Dr or went to Tijuana, MX for their sleeve.
Thanks

I think it's ponce de leon. I'm scheduled with him for 9/3. How'd your surgery go? I hope things went well for you. If so, are there any tips or suggestions that I should be aware of to better prepare myself?

I had the same issue and switched to prevacid. I take 30mg daily and it seems to control the heartburn much better than the Prilosec I took for the 1st 6 weeks. Sometimes different PPI's work for different folks. Prilosec may not be the best one for you or it may not be a high enough dose. This sensation is very common with this surgery. Good luck!!
