Stay strong, I did an all liquid diet for almost 2 weeks just to lose weight for a wedding and had no good permanent solution waiting for me at the end like you have so hang in there, you can do this!!!

I am so sorry about your brother. I really want to cry, I just don't know what to do. My insurance company said I will have to get approved all over again. I don't have the time to take off my job, I have used all my time with this surgeon and the time I will be off after surgery. I am going to call him and express my concerns to him. I will let him know how he has made me feel and if he feels he can't give me the treatment I need without being bias, I will have to move on. I will also tell him I am going to have an endoscopy done to make sure everything was done right and enough stomach was taken out.

This is something serious and with the co-morbites you've mentioned your doctor should be biting at the bites to help you get rid of these life treating health issues. I too have diabetes and this surgery I'm told will eliminate it instantly! People would look at me also and say I'm vain because I don't look like I need to lose a pound much less have wls but looking healthy and being healthy is a whole nother issue. I have hypertension, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes so I'm doing what I need to do to save my life as my brother died at age 34 of diabetes and in his honor I will do whatever it takes to fight this disease and if that means wls, here I come. I too had a separate medical experience with a doctor and i didn't trust his opinion therefore i got a second opinion. I know it may be more time consuming but personally I would never want to go under the knife with a doctor that doesn't share my vision!!

I lost 99 pounds (from 397 to 298) during my six month pre-op diet program. It was the best thing that happened to me. I completely re-defined my relationship with food before the surgery, and lost so much weight that post-op life was much, much easier. If you are losing, keep at it. You will thank yourself later for the hard work on the front end. Even now at 6'0", 185 pounds, I still think that if I hadn't done all of the pre-op work, I'd be at 285. It always makes me extra thankful for taking that approach.
