  1. Liquid and mushy food is not fun!

So I had a follow up on 4-14 and the doc said I can move to stuff like MEATLOAF AND SALAD!!! HALLELUJAH! That has been wonderful, but the old appettite returning has been hell. I have almost no restriction feelings anymore while waiting for my first fill, and now I am trying to "diet". This is why I got the band, I don't diet well at all. So I am trying to stick to lean meat, salads, and no carby foods, but boy, it ain't easy. I loved the feelings when my belly was still swollen from sugery and I couldn't each much. It was a nice, safe feeling. I don't like having this big 'ol stomach to fill up. My next appt. is 4-29, PLEASE GOD let him do a fill then, but I think as a matter of practice he waits until 6 weeks out from surgery. ARGH!!!

  2. Yes, I must say I feared the worst, and it is happening. I have put on 2 pounds, I am excersizing and watching my calorie intake, however, because I still have a whole stomach, it is sometimes hard to fill it without overeating! GOD! I can't wait to get a fill? How are you doing?

  3. Hey there, got my first fill this morning (unexpected, doc said I was ready)....3 cc's!

  4. The first fill wasn't bad at all, and I hope that it gives good restriction! I had gained 2 pounds, and have just today let go of 1.5 of them. It is frustrating, excersize got me thru.

  5. You are right! We have to keep plugging on, and things will begin to click along. Think about 6 months from now when we have lost 40 pounds!!! :)

  6. Hey there! Yea for March 31sters! Yes, I am on a stair-step diet. Right now I can have stuff like yogurt, milk, creamy soups, protein shakes, etc. On Wednesday, I get to have scrambled eggs and oatmeal, mashed potatoes! WOW I can't wait for that, lol. You know, I could never be a vegetarian, I miss meat :)

So, how did your surgery go? Mine, being the first surgery I have ever had was smooth as silk! Pain was minimal, tolerable. I went back to work yesterday, maybe a little too much excitement, but doing o.k. You?

  7. lol! Someone has stolen my name! Actually, I live in IN, was born in KY. I do love tattoos though..... :) How is things going for you?

  9. Hi there. I saw your post about dealing with the relationship with food. My addiction is sugar and bread. I spent 3 years in Overeaters Anonymous and they saved my life. They directed me to "the body knows" It is a book that deals with all of that. I went for 3 years without sugar, flour, or wheat. It was damn hard work, I won't lie to you, but they teach you how to deal honestly with your relationship to food. Without it, I don't think I would be able to handle band-life. It is a structured program, but they are wonderful, and provide good support. You may want to start with the book "the body knows" It may help you enough to get you started. I will tell you that OA groups probably would not like the idea of the band, that is a down fall of the groups, but everything else is mucho helpful! write me anytime!
