  1. I too am starting to walk at work during lunch time even though I am slow due to the soreness at the port and the incision port slot. I am so looking forward to this Thursday, as I get to go on shakes and yogurt.. Finally something with taste. I cant take jello, popcicles or water anymore and here I liked popcicles. LOL.. Cant wait for some real food. I am in California, where are you located?

  2. Hi Lori:

My name is Michelle... Thanks for writing, this really does help alot. OMG today, I thought I was going to die at work - so much pain and gas and on top of that I am constipated. So I did purchase some organic tea to help out the stool problem, hope to p**p here in the next 6 hours overnight. I finally broke down and took the pain meds, and that seemed to help along with getting on all 4's and rocking, but I cant do that at work. LOL

  3. How long after surgery did the port area hurt and the port muscle itself? Today would be day 4 after surgery and I returned to work today for a few hours. I can see I definitely need a pillow for my stomach leaning up next to the desk to type at the computer. Did I tell you I lost 4 lbs since surgery?

  4. Hello again... Operation went pretty smooth, just like any operation. I was actually feeling pretty good up until today.. For some reason the area in which was the biggest for the port is very sore and I seem to have either hunger pains or just soreness, however I did not take any pain medication today, so that could have something to do with it, otherwise, so far so good, however this damn clear liquids is getting boring very fast..

  5. This is what I have heard and will be banded this Thursday - 5/20 - Get Gas X strips, walk - walk alot, drink alot of water - keep hydrated, and take your pain meds, also extra strength tylonol is suppose to be good, but ask your doctor on it, and last, for nausea - I heard to get a nausea patch. They say - stay ahead of your pain - you'll be in better shape.. if by chance you get a fever - call your doctor immediately.
  6. CONGRATULATIONS.. Down 8lbs. You sound GREAT! Much better than another woman who had the surgery on Fri -14th, her email today said she is depressed and still in pain. I am actually glad I am checking out the chat and blogs -it helps alot to know what to expect. Everyone is different, but they seem extremely happy. My surgery is suppose to be this Thur. 5/20, but, the dr. called today and had me do another blood test-stating my potassium level is alittle high and need to have it re-tested. Dont know what all that means, but I am checking it out now. In some cases, it could be the start of diabetes - never had it, or the test could be faulty. I will find out more tomorrow. Gosh, I really hope I do as well as you. I am prepared with the gas-x strips and plan on getting up and walking alot as they say that is the cure. Overall, excited, scared, & nervous and especially about what it means to have elevated blood test. Keep in touch, and glad to hear your doing GREAT.

  7. Wow, you sound good.. Things sound normal from what I have read, however my banding is not until this Thursday, so I am alittle nervous, excited and been reading up on the expectations. So today is Saturday the 15th, how are you feeling now? Lost any weight? How much do you have to lose? I am in California and I have about 75 to lose, but hoping it will be closer to 70 by operation day.. Keep in touch
