    YAY ME FINALLY 129LBS!!!!!!!!

Congrats!! I've been dying to see 129. I have been bouncing around in the 130s forever! I am a bit jealous..
  2. Correct, no fill. I don't ever want one either lol. I don't have anything in my band, it's completely empty. When I first started my journey I did high protein/low carbs which is when I lost most of my weight. Nowadays I eat whatever I want so that won't be of much help to you, lol. I exercise every single day; no excuses. I think it's been key to my weight loss. I exercise a good hour+ except for Sundays. Swimming is great exercise and if you can do it each day, go for it. I think it'd help a lot.

    Virtual Lapband

    Silly.
  4. Who is your doctor? She sounds completely unaware of what a healthy diet is. By all means I'd change the diet, ASAP. There is nothing wrong with Protein but you do need other macronutrients and micronutrients from other foods. Is it possible for you to see another doctor? Also from all of the physical activity you may experience more tenderness near your port site. Maybe go back to your doctor..or a new one?
  5. 1-2lbs is the average weekly loss with the band; not sure what more you're expecting. You're not always going to see a decrease on the scale. Some week it'll be 2lbs, some weeks 1lb, some weeks a lovely 0lbs. In fact, it's much better that you are seeing inches lost; this means you are TRULY losing fat. Stepping on the scale doesn't prove fat-loss, it's proves a loss in mass, which could include fat, muscle, Water, or a combination of those. Embrace your inches lost and be patient. My saying: weight-loss is never linear or constant. Keep that in mind. Good luck!

I CAN EAT ! YOU CAN EAT !

Everything. Limitations only tend to come about when you have a tighter band. Mine is empty, so I eat..everything
  7. I was excited, anxious, but very scared. It was my first real surgery and I kept thinking holy crap I could die. Alas fate is just that, and I believe in it. But at the same time I also knew that I could die driving 50 miles to work each day so I got over that emotion quickly. I did cry 5 mins before surgery because my mom started crying (lol!) otherwise it was a good day.
  8. Do what works for you. The amount of meals you eat within a day does not matter. You can lose weight eating one meal a day; you can lose weight eating 20 meals a day. It all comes down to how many calories you are taking in each day. I see nothing wrong with snacking and my surgeon never mentioned not doing it. Choice is entirely yours. Good luck and thanks.
  9. Buy the 100 calorie packs or find a way to fit a cookie or 2 into your daily calories.
  10. 1. I wouldn't get a fill. 2. Eat foods higher in fat like nuts, avocado, etc. They're much more calorie dense.
  11. Will it hurt you? Eh, probably not. Could it slow down your healing process? Surely could. Does it show that you're already unable to be compliant? Yes. It's one thing to mess up; it's a whole other thing to plan to "cheat" again. Choice is yours, though I'd say no. Stick to your diet; you were given it for a reason.

    Should I get a fill???

Are you getting hungry before 2-3 hours after you've eaten? If you're continuously losing and not experiencing extreme hunger, I'd say no to a fill. Why fix it if it isn't broken? I too questioned needing fills and I never got one; don't need it.
  15. I didn't. I replied to you in the thread from last night. I only lost 45lbs within that time. Onederland is when you're below 200lbs, not 100lbs lost.

    The "wrong " answers ??

Just answer the questions honestly...if you feel the need to explain a few of them to the doctor then by all means do so. I think you're truly overthinking this, lol. It's like asking someone if the name you're writing on the paper is your own. They're asking these questions to determine whether or not you may have underlying health conditions such as sleep apnea, asthma, etc. If you have sleep apnea then yes it can make getting approved for surgery a lot easier.

    Feeling Hungry!

Drink more. Liquids slide through your band so drinking more won't hurt you at all. PS hunger is normal and doesn't go away completely, unless your body no longer makes ghrelin.
  18. Easy fix: Stop weighing yourself everyday; it's pointless. Your closest true weight is early in the morning on an empty stomach after using the bathroom. Even then don't use the scale as the only way to measure your weight-loss. Focus on inches lost more.
  19. Oddly excited/worried about upping my calories again. Hoooray.

  20. No that is when I was under 200lbs; I lost 45lbs or so from my pre-op diet to July 2010.
  21. Pre-op diet for me as well.
  22. My band keeps me full; nothing more. I put myself on a low carb diet early on because I wanted the weight off quickly, and off it fell. Nowadays I don't let the word diet come out of my mouth; I'm not on one and the word diet has taken on such a negative connotation when truly a diet consists of what we eat. I eat ice cream, bread, Cookies, kids Cereal, etc etc on a daily basis. But I also eat plenty of Protein, veggies, fruits, and so on. I've learned that it's truly not what you eat, but how much of it and how much you decide to move during the day. I got fat because I didn't move and I wasn't aware of what I was eating portion wise. My band has fixed the portion problem; I fixed the laziness. Good luck to you! I think a fill will do you well but also a talk with your nutritionist may be beneficial
  23. Untrue. I've lost 116lbs with more to go. In the end it's up to you to figure out what WLS is best for you.
