  1. It won't do the work for you; it takes willpower (sorry, but it does) and it takes knowing how to work WITH the band. You won't get banded and drop the weight in the snap of a finger. Instead it's up to you to count your calories, understand your new sense of being "full" (satisfied is more like it), exercising, eating a diet consisting of mainly whole foods, etc etc. The band does help but ultimately your journey is in your own hands, IMO. In my case the band keeps me full and gave me the motivation I needed to get off my @$$ and workout; I do so for a good hour+ each day and I love it. I wouldn't trade my band for the world as it's really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I'm a rare case but I've lost 115lbs without needing a fill. Good luck with whatever you choose!
  2. I'd say 60-80g minimum; I eat no less than 130g a day. Good luck!

    Hope this is healthy

Sounds fine to me. The olive oil is probably high in fat (good fats however) therefore high in calories but I think that's a pretty solid meal.
  4. I have no fill in my band and have lost 115lbs total; have 5lbs+ to go. I do have restriction (I feel full with a cup or a little more of food) but I can eat pretty much anything. Sometimes bread gives me a hard time if I don't chew well, otherwise I have restriction, but not nearly as much as most people here do. I think it's possible and a good idea, IMO. Some will probably disagree but for me my journey has been 90% me, 10% the band. Yes it keeps me full but I chose to workout for an hour each day and I chose to continue to count my calories, weigh all of my food, etc. Hope that helps and good luck!

Look...see if you can help me out...

I have a lot of jeans in size 20s. XXL shirts as well. PM me.
  6. That's common; just wait it out. If you feel you can eat more, do so. PB has a lot of calories which may help.
  7. I was very strict with myself in the beginning, I think it's part of what fueled my success. I always held myself accountable, still do but nowadays I am pretty lax; eat what I want in moderation, no more low carbing, etc etc. Couldn't be happier.

    large hard ball around site

    You're probably feeling your port.
  9. Good luck! Hopefully this time around proves to be a success for you.
  10. 1. Never heard of the no coffee thing -- I know plenty of bandsters here drink it. I'm a tea person however. 2. The carbination in soda can be problematic for some. Never been a soda fan, again I know bandsters who have the occassional diet soda. 3. Lettuce is fibrous and can get stuck if you aren't careful, but this depends on your fill/restriction level. I eat salads throughout the week with no problem, both iceberg and romaine lettuce work fine for me. 4. There is no list. With the band and certain foods it really is YMMV. I can eat anything because I like a loose band; others keep a tight band and can't eat bread, rice, Pasta, etc.

    What was your Saturday menu?

3 eggs 90g peanut flour 60g whole wheat flour 56g greek yogurt (I used chobani FF, any will work probably) 60g brown sugar (I used Ideal, it's a brown sugar substitute) 1 tsp baking soda 200g banana, mashed stevia to taste 1 scoop banana Protein powder (not needed; add more banana or flour if you don't have powder) vanilla/banana extract to taste Baked mine in 6 mini-loaf pans for 20 minutes or so. Made enough to last me all week; will be using pumpkin next weekend.
  12. Was eating my banana bread today -- guy who works with me asked if i was falling off the wagon..I gladly said NOPE! Love being able to eat good food without the fear of gaining. :D

  13. I bounced between 130-131lbs for the longest time, probably a month or so. My cure has been to drop my calories by 50-100 per day and by adding cardio back in. So instead of 1750 calories plus, I now aim for 1600-1700 max, with more cardio throughout the week. Doing this last week I finally broke the 130.2-130.6 stage I was stuck in; hit 130 today. If you're dropping inches I wouldn't be worried. If you're doing 2 hours of working out, I'd definitely say 900 is too low. Maybe stick to a higher range and see what happens.

    Four Golden Rules

I was fat because I ate too much and didn't move enough; simple. Has nothing to do with eating McDonalds or eating white bread.

    Pepperoni Chips (lapband food)

That sounds good! Probably would be tasty with mozzarella cheese on top.

    Eating out

I have my card but I never used it. After looking at the kid's menus at most restaurants I realized there's rarely anything on it that'd I'd want to eat. I just get a normal meal and portion it out. Never hurts to have another meal for the next day!
  19. Whoa just noticed I'm only 5lbs from my first goal weight. Sweeeet!

    Four Golden Rules

I eat ice cream daily..and Chick fil A and plenty of other "taboo" foods; there's NOTHING wrong with them, unless you of course can't keep it to a moderate portion, which is the problem with most people (myself included) today. It's called fit it into your calories and move on. While most of the food I eat is Protein, veggies, and fruit, nothing says I cannot eat ice cream at the end of the day.

    Four Golden Rules

    1. What's so wrong with white flour and white sugar? lol. The only different between a whole grain/wheat flour is the Fiber content in most cases. If anything the macronutrient profile differs very slightly. 2. Mm processed food. 3. But I like Chick fil A. 4. See #3. In the end, I think these "rules" are helpful to people who aren't the most aware of what they're eating. We all got the band for portion purposes (or so I think most people did) and in my case/lifestyle/diet, I can eat white flour, sugar, processed food, and fast food..in moderation. I think that rule goes for anyone; fat, obese, skinny, underweight, or the average sized person. Moderation moderation moderation. There's no one size fits all diet, thank god. I wish I'd have known that when I was first banded. While cutting out carbs helped me lose most of my weight, I now know that carbs didn't make me fat; I made me fat, my lifestyle made me fat. If I knew I could lose weight and eat ice cream, Cookies, fast food, etc. etc then I think my journey would have been even easier. Oh well. Good "rules" but I don't think they need to be long term rules at all.

not loosing weight in 2nd month

Measure yourself, maybe you're losing inches. Sadly weight-loss isn't always linear/constant. It's up and down all the time. Keep your head up!
