    The scale

Thanks everyone. I need to leave the scale alone for awhile. A break from it will be nice. I think this one will go to goodwill. And I will wait until my 6 month check up with my surgeon before I weigh again.
  4. How often should I change the battery in my scale. This thing gives me some crazy numbers. Up 2 down 3. Up 5 all in the same day. Yes I'm following the rules, no its not that TOM. Even my kids are gaining excessive pounds in one day. Am I going crazy or do I need batteries?
  5. Well it can be a mixture of things. Lots of people are happy for me and tell me how beautiful I am. But along the way I have had some haters. Some people don't want you to look as good or better than they do. But tough. Thank God my parents and husband love me no matter what. Just remember this journey is about you and your health.
  6. I thought I was the only one. My nose runs even if I'm full on liquids. It's not so bad though I'm getting used to it.
  7. Ok when I started this journey I was wearing 2x scrubs to work. Now I wear mediums. Say what ???
  8. Take your time. SIP slowly. I didn't get the hang of my new tummy for at least 2 months. Just hang in there and you will get the hang of it in no time.

    Will it end ?

Thanks so much for the advice. I'm 5'6" and I think 175 will be a good look for me. You are a great weight for your height.
  11. I woke up this morning at 180.2 pounds. Which I love. My goal is to be 175 pounds. I currently wear a size 12. I love myself right now. I don't feel fat anymore which is great. But. Im scared that I may continue to loose weight and look to thin and sickly. Has anyone had this problem or a similar one. My husband thinks I should stop where I am. But I just want to see if 175 will get me into a size 10. But that's it for me. Please help.......
  12. ok this is just my opinion. Im almost four months out.my original goal weight was 160. i started at 264. now I weigh 184. Trust me don't be afraid to change your goal weight i only wan't to get down to 175 at the lowest. Because my bones are showing and i can feel me ribs pretty well and its looks pretty weird.trust your own judgement i never want to be 160 pounds i would look sick. I'm 5'6" by the way. Things change don't be afraid of changing your goals along the way. It all depends on how tall you are how you think you look at a certain point. My surgeon even had to change his mind about my goal weight. He thought 154 would be good for me until my last visit then he said ok a BMI under 30 and you can feel free to stop if you like to.
  13. Hi a kinda had a similar probelm. I wasn';t denied but Cigna needed more info from the doc. All it took was one more fax and I was approved the same day. So hang in there. It could just be one sheet of paper they need.

(some pics)proof you have to lift weights!

Your arms look great. I will start that today if I don't do anything else. I thought about buying the shake weight but I don't think I'll get the same results.
  15. Ok so I had my VSG on 8/30/10 and as of 12/18/10 I have lost 80 pounds. I love my sleeve !! Looking back now I never knew if I would be able to say that or not. I went from a size 22 to a 12. But Im not done yet. I have noticed that my goals have changed along the way. When I first started this journey I thought I would like to be 160 pounds. But now I know that woud be to thin for my frame I'm 5'6" just my opinion. I like where I have gone on this journey and the new things I've learned about myself along the way. As soon as I get to 175 pound which is only 9 pounds away. I think I will stop and try to maintain. To any neewbies out there just breath and enjoy the ride. Yes you will stall and No you can't comapre yourself to anyone else. We are all different. And yes your goals may change once you start to loose I know mine did. My surgeon has even changed his goals for me. Initially he thought 154 would be a good weight for me. Now he just says get your BMI under 30, which I've done. So This is a learning process for all involved not just you.
