    Hold off on Lap band

Thanks for the support. Have you ever had a cyst? I was checked for cancer and everything came back good. How bad can cyst get? The doc acts like its no big deal, but it is for me.

    Hold off on Lap band

I've been up and down with trying to make my decision on the lapband and as soon as I make up my mind my doc found a cyst on my overy. I have to wait 6 weeks before she makes any decisions on taking it off. So Iam going to hold off for awhile until I find out whats going on with my overy. Iam not too disapointed, I made a appointment with a diet clinic this week so hopefully I can get some of this weight off before summer. I just want to wish all of you the best of luck. I was wondering if I could still hang out and maybe show some of my before and after pictures too! Thats if this diet works. Thanks for all the advise!

    Waiting and Worried!

Iam from Kentucky and have UHC. I called them and they stated that the operation is covered at 90% after $100 deduct. My friend from work has the same insurance and didn't have to pay anything. I haven't turned in my paper work to get things started but will update yall when I find out something. Seems like everyone is getting different anwsers. Keep me posted and Good Luck!

    What is PBing?

Thanks! I figured it meant some kind of throwing up. Is that common with everyone who has the lap band?

    Dropped Belly

I haven't had surgery yet but I do have a question. My lower belly has dropped and was wondering when I lose weight will I have to have a tummy tuck? This has happend from having two kids and not working out. Has anyone else out there in lap land have this problem? Will most of it go away? Iam so excited about this surgery and Iam running out of questions. I'll be glad when I get my new insurance cards so I can get this ball running!

    Insurance and Diet Clinics

No its $79 plus meds (around $60) a month once everything gets started. I know I would loose the weight and fast doing the diet clinic thing the only problem is once its over you gain all back them some. I've already started the 6 month diet so hopefully it will be soon. Good Luck Everybody! ~Carmille

    Insurance and Diet Clinics

Thanks for the quick response! The diet clinic I was looking into they give you diet pills, weight, give pointers on food, and b6 and b12 shots every week if you want. The diet pills are every month. They also check your blood pressure to make sure the pills arent hurting you. I want to do it so bad but the first visit is $299 its for your 1st 2 wks of med blood work and a class. 2weeks later you go for weigh in blood pressure check and 1 month of diet pills and that going to cost $79 for visit and between $30-$60 for meds every month. And they give b6 and b12 shots for energy everyweek at no cost if you want. Does that sound good to you? I need you input bad! Thanks ~Carmille Ps Congrats on the 45lbs gone! Iam so excited for you. Do you have any before and after pictures?:clap2:

    Insurance and Diet Clinics

I've recently started new insurance Unitedhealthcare plan 100 a (whatever that means) A couple of my friends lap bands were approved with the insurance, they don't give you any crap. So I hope Iam lucky has they were. I was thinking about joining a diet clinic in the mean time but my husband thinks thats a waist of money (which it is). He is so for this lap band. Its nice to have a husband who is by my side, but he don't understand how long it takes to have the surgery. We live in Louisville Kentucky home of the Kentucky Derbry and my 1st goal is to loose weight by then(1st weekend in May) and I figured if I didn't get approved I could go that route. What do you think? Should I wait until I get my new insurance cards? ~Carmille

    What Foods Do You Miss?

Thanks for the rapid response guys!!!! Thats why I love this site so much! I think I would proberly miss white bread and soda too. I heard you could shake up all the fiz out of the soda and still drink it, is that true? Will you never ever be able to eat bread again? How about red meats? Do you feel full all of the time? Just trying to get an idea. Thanks ~Carmille
  13. Everyone, I haven't had surgery yet Iam still thinking about it. Just wondering what foods do you miss? Thats really the only thing (besides the insurance) holding me back. Why am I having these ups and downs? The only thing that keeps my sprit up is my husband and yall's before and after pictures. Speaking of pictures, I want to see more new ones. Thanks! ~Carmille
  14. Iam on 75 mg tenuate. My brother told me about it. He lost 30 lbs. So far it only works for 4 hours then Iam hungry again. Also heard its very addictive. Now I know the phentermine works, I lost 40 lbs in 6 months but then gained it all back. CLA is a joke to me. Right know Iam so confused. Good Luck ~Carmille

    Does Anybody Have Humana?

I live in Louisville Kentucky and have Humana HMO KPPA insurance and they require the 6 month diet. I called them and they said the Doc has to send the paperwork to the insurance company. I told them I started the diet in November and would that count, of course she didn't understand me so Iam just going to talk to my pcp and se what we can do to speed up process. My husband is taking a buyout at his job (Ford Motor Co) and once he quits they will give him 6 months of free insurance, so Iam trying to get everything approved before then. I met this lady today who had a triple heart bypass and she had humana hmo and they declined her surgery. I think thats crazy because her heart doc told her she needs it. I wonder why the insurance turned her down. Would any of yall have an idea? I sure hope they don't turn me down after my 6 months of hard work, I going to be pissed if they do. Once my husband doesn't have insurance anymore I can get some from work so if all fails I hope my insurance will approve. Let me know if anyone knows anything about Humana Thanks ~Carmille
