  1. i have lost close to 20 lbs since my surgery on March 10th but it's been hard these last couple of weeks becuase like everyone is saying, it is a diet on your part. Therefore, I have been tracking everything I eat and keep the calories to 600 or 700 a day and it's been working. I get my first fill on Friday and looking forward to some restriction. Hang in there and try to work out everyday for 30 mins. I walk two miles a day. :)

  2. I agree with Betsy and all the other posts, before you're banded you have no clue what it's gonna be like and are scared, like I was, on such a drastic lifestyle change, and a fearful of cutting out the foods you love and have comforted you. However, since I was banded, I now know, that the life long diet we've all experienced still continues even when you're banded. You still have to have willpower, control and intelligence to make the right eating choices because your band is a tool, that's all it is. Therefore, before you're banded, live like a bandster because that will get you close to how it's gonna be once you're banded. Yes you will be hungry, but us bandsters get hungry too! That feeling doesn't go away, but our band makes us eat less when we are hungry. All the best!

  3. Cariel, I'm day 7 post-op and have wanted to cheat as well. I cheated on my pre-op diet everyday for a week and was surprised to find I had lost 9 lbs. I totally agree with Queen Fig, up until the first or second fill, it's basically alot of willpower. My doctor has me on liquids for 2 weeks post-op then week three and four are mushy to soft solids so I'm dying! Therefore, I try to eat same thing everyday, one shake for morning, shake for lunch and bowl of Tomato Soup for dinner and a sugar free popicle every day. I've lost 12 lbs this week alone. Hang in there. You are going to be fine, just don't over do it with the solids too much! :scared2:

  4. I had my last wednesday, so almost a week now. I went back to work the day after and felt miserable. I would recommend giving yourself until atleast that Thurs or Friday because you will be feeling some level of discomfort. I was on pain med for the first 3 days and wished I would have taken the whole week off to recover. Guess it just will depend on how you are feeling, but more than likely you will want to lay down and rest most of that week. Good luck to you and you'll do great. 7 days out and 10 lbs down!

  5. I'm 7 days post op and feeling like normal except for the tenderness around the incisisions. I'm losing weight which is great but I do miss all the food mentioned above because I think there is a psychological aspect to it. Missing the taste of food, chewing and what food meant. I went out to eat with my husband and kids and there I sat, drinking tea, wanted to cry but got through it, barely. lol. I've been drinking a shake in the morning, shake for lunch and dinner an bowl of Tomato Soup and sugar free popcicle. 10 lbs down. WE CAN DO THIS!
