  1. i have lost close to 20 lbs since my surgery on March 10th but it's been hard these last couple of weeks becuase like everyone is saying, it is a diet on your part. Therefore, I have been tracking everything I eat and keep the calories to 600 or 700 a day and it's been working. I get my first fill on Friday and looking forward to some restriction. Hang in there and try to work out everyday for 30 mins. I walk two miles a day.
  2. I'm 14 days out and lost 12 lbs so far! WHOO YOO!
  3. My husband has been so supportive and cooks the right foods for me and comforts me on a hard day. He told me he's gonna miss grabbing on to my love handles though. LOL.
  4. This is my 14th day post op. This is the very first day on the mushies. I was hungry on liquids but stuck it out and lost basically a lb a day. So it's definitely worth it! Try not to cheat and just stick with it, you have the rest of your banded life to enjoy solid food. LOL. Love My Band!

    forget calories?

I agree as well, I don't count calories at all. I just each protein and veggies measured out each meal to 4 or 5 oz.s. Love my Band!
  6. I did 3 protein shakes each day for two weeks before I was banded. After I am banded, I still am on a all liquid diet for a month after I am banded. It sucks but WORTH IT! Protein shakes give you all the nutrition you need, just keep remembering that! You can do this! I know because I am and it's just something we have to do, but it won't last for long. :frown:

    My worst fear....

I agree with Betsy and all the other posts, before you're banded you have no clue what it's gonna be like and are scared, like I was, on such a drastic lifestyle change, and a fearful of cutting out the foods you love and have comforted you. However, since I was banded, I now know, that the life long diet we've all experienced still continues even when you're banded. You still have to have willpower, control and intelligence to make the right eating choices because your band is a tool, that's all it is. Therefore, before you're banded, live like a bandster because that will get you close to how it's gonna be once you're banded. Yes you will be hungry, but us bandsters get hungry too! That feeling doesn't go away, but our band makes us eat less when we are hungry. All the best!
  8. YOU LOOK GREAT KARTMAN!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOO LAAA LAAA! LOL. GOOD JOB!:frown:
  9. I'm 9 days post op and am not even on solid foods for another two weeks per my doctor's orders. I'm on strictly liquids and I've been losing alot. Don't even want to mess that so going to stick with my protein shakes and tomato soup for dinner every night until I get a good fill. Been taking vitamins so know I'm getting proper nutrition and am not going to starve during this time.
  10. That's Awesome Todd, rock it! :scared2:

    mexico anyone

Please be careful, very unstable down there. Be informed. U.S. citizen are being warned not to cross the border at this point due to the flood of violence.
  12. Craving everything, but craving been skinnier more! On liquids for most of my post-op until my fill so I try and block it from my hungry mind! LOL. :scared2:
  13. I weigh myself like every other day because since I'm still on liquids I'm dropping weight rapidly and like to see the numbers on the scale. :scared2:
  14. Thanks Zoom! so are you!

    Feeling full?!

I'm 8 days post op and for me it's like a bloated feeling, tightness in my stomach I can feel. I'm still on liquids and will remain on liquids for two more weeks so I haven't experienced alot of bloating with liquids yet. :scared2:
  16. Cariel, I'm day 7 post-op and have wanted to cheat as well. I cheated on my pre-op diet everyday for a week and was surprised to find I had lost 9 lbs. I totally agree with Queen Fig, up until the first or second fill, it's basically alot of willpower. My doctor has me on liquids for 2 weeks post-op then week three and four are mushy to soft solids so I'm dying! Therefore, I try to eat same thing everyday, one shake for morning, shake for lunch and bowl of tomato soup for dinner and a sugar free popicle every day. I've lost 12 lbs this week alone. Hang in there. You are going to be fine, just don't over do it with the solids too much! :scared2:
  17. 10 lbs down in one week since surgery ohn 3.10.10_yippeee!!!!

  18. For my goal prize, I want to walk past this one girl I know and see occassionally (and who looks me up and down as if she's judging me and my weight) in a really cute outfit that's taylored to my new skinny body and have her do a double take while I casually walk on by. Teehee. LOL.
  19. I had my last wednesday, so almost a week now. I went back to work the day after and felt miserable. I would recommend giving yourself until atleast that Thurs or Friday because you will be feeling some level of discomfort. I was on pain med for the first 3 days and wished I would have taken the whole week off to recover. Guess it just will depend on how you are feeling, but more than likely you will want to lay down and rest most of that week. Good luck to you and you'll do great. 7 days out and 10 lbs down!
  20. Lauren, each day gets better, I'm 7 days post op and feel fine but didn't until day 5. I also had hernia repaired and incisions hurt just like you. It was also painful for me to breath in, I was fatigued and could barely walk for 5 mins. It will get lots better quickly I promise! Hang in there!
  21. I'm 7 days post op and feeling like normal except for the tenderness around the incisisions. I'm losing weight which is great but I do miss all the food mentioned above because I think there is a psychological aspect to it. Missing the taste of food, chewing and what food meant. I went out to eat with my husband and kids and there I sat, drinking tea, wanted to cry but got through it, barely. lol. I've been drinking a shake in the morning, shake for lunch and dinner an bowl of tomato soup and sugar free popcicle. 10 lbs down. WE CAN DO THIS!
  22. BEK, sorry about ur incident with the patch. I'm 7 days post op and when they put the patch on me, they told me that it could do that. Thank god I was warned, sorry you weren't and had to go through that! BTW, 7 day and feeling great! Love my band!

    Day Two Post-Op

My surgery was March 10 and I'm in Bandster Hell with bloating, sore muscles and having to sleep all weird. Walking does seem to help but still having sharp pains when I breath. UGH!!!! Well worth it though for sure. Can't wait until the soup phase! LOL. :frown:

Mominkansas, I bought the Pure Protein drinks and decided I liked the Atkins milk chocolate way better, they are the best in my opinion!
