  1. I don't know about it going away, but I can relate. When I eat too much I get the hiccups. For me they last about 10- 15 minutes and are rather uncomfortable (though not painful). They are significantly stronger than any pre-sleeve hiccups I have had before. Luckily it has only happened a few times!
  2. I take Zoloft and skipped them the first two days, dissolved them in water for a few days and starting at about a week out I was able to swallow them after I broke them in half. At 2.5 weeks I was able to swallow them whole. Presuming you have not been having any problems keeping anything down, I would try to break it in half and see how that goes. If you have trouble with that still, talk to your doctor. The low dose pills are pretty small and even if you have to take 4 to get to your dosage it can be done.
  3. I had seen on here that some people experience lactose intolerance post-op. Well, it appears to have happened to me. It is very upsetting to me because I LOVE milk and all dairy products. My question: for those that had it start post-op...did it get better in time or did it continue to be a problem for you? Thanks! Nicole
  4. I start full liquids stage this Sunday, which includes yogurt, applesauce, cream Soups, etc. I am wondering how much I should be able to eat at one sitting? Will I be able to finish a 4oz yogurt cup or will that be too much? Just thinking ahead, and looking very forward to some additional variety in my meals!!!! Nicole
  5. Those are too big for me but I plan on cleaning out my closet in the next few weeks...what size are you wearing now? I may be able to send you some work clothes to keep you going for a little bit...pm me nicole
  6. Sorry, no advise. Just agreeing 100% that they taste nasty crushed. They make me gag! :001_smile:
  7. ARGH! Patience has never been one of my strong suits! Nicole
  8. I have no real advise, but I will tell you my story is similar. I am also having surgery in Mex (Aceves). I knew my mom would freak out. She knew I was researching the surgery, but the Mexico thing was a shocker. When I told her she started crying (though she denies it - it sure sounded like she was) and saying that I was going to die. I sent her a bunch of links and she read over them. Over a few days she calmed down and now she is supportive. She still wishes I was having it closer to my home, but understands why I am not. Good luck
  9. I am also scheduled for June 10th! I am using Dr. Aceves. I am so excited. Since I made the decision I just want to get it done and over with! Actually, I want to really just get the first 3 post-op weeks over with. But, I am a teacher so I have to wait until summer break. I am sure it will be here before I know it. Good luck everyone!
  10. I'm scheduled for June and going out with my friends (which always revolves around food) has me very nervous already! I am just thankful that I will have time to adjust before college football season, b/c we party every weekend then! I know in the beginning I am going to have to make myself still go out and have a plan and stick to it. You are doing great! I can;t wait to be able to write my post op experience.
  11. I am 98% sure I am going to Aceves to get sleeved this summer (hopefully in June:thumbup:). The email I got from Nina said: "*Financed procedures may incur in additional fees, please call us for details." Did anyone here finance with either of the 2 medical credit companies that Aceves uses? If so, anything to be warned about or was it all smooth? Were there additional fees? Thanks in advance! Nicole
  12. I was told that BCBS TX covers the band and RNY, but not the sleeve....that is why I plan on going self pay Nicole (newbie from TX)
  13. Marci - I think I am using Jayaseelan and TLC edge this June. How long did you stay at the surgery center? I was told 23 hours. Did that seem sufficient to you? Did the doc do a leak test the AM following surgery? Thanks! I am excited but nervous. I have not met him yet, but from everything I have heard he is a great doc. Nicole
